It's harder to get funding for basic research projects than ever before in Australia.

The @arc_gov_au Discovery Projects scheme now has the lowest “success rate” ever: 16.3%.

Only 1 in 6 grants are funded.

Why? The funding available has plummeted.

Please help, Jason Clare MP❗️

"Sensitivity analyses can remain agnostic about [causal] structure. This is one reason they are useful; they adjudicate debates bc people can agree on validity w/out reaching full agreement on what constitutes plausible causal knowledge."

Economists! We're hiring @UVABatten

The search is in applied (domestic-focused) micro.

We're hiring an assistant prof in public policy and economics. Rookies or advanced assistants welcome.

I'm on the committee, so feel free to shoot me any Q's.

Lots of new polisci folks lately!

Find folks to follow by looking through people that have liked the polisky feed. bsky.app/profile/did:...

If you want to post to that polisci feed, you need @profmusgrave.bsky.social to whitelist you (just ask him).

Two helpful docs below.
