If you want to know what a Farage led Britain would be like, just look at America.

Did you know... magnolia evolved on earth about 95 million years ago!
Magnolia is so old in fact that it pre-dates the existence of bees and butterflies, meaning they relied on beetles to pollinate in their early days.
A billionaire can get what they want with one donation to a political party. The rest of us must fight for years to get even the most basic rights recognised. Money destroys democracy, more than any other cause. The first step towards a better world is to stop the rich buying political outcomes.
Thank you, so many of you have already emailed to object to Brighton Marina's licence application.
If you haven't had a chance yet, there's still time. Consultation closes soon. Already objected? Share this post

Yes. And this: ‘Iran has found that the closure of the Strait of Hormuz is a ‘genuine and actionable threat..a powerful future deterrent that is quite independent of nuclear weapons. If the regime survives this war, it may yet emerge in a stronger position internationally’.
Lord Peter Ricketts, former head of the Foreign Office:
“If you’re going to attack a country you have to show it is in self-defence and that there is some kind of imminent threat. You can’t make that case here…An indifference to international law is dangerous.”

Now there is hope! It's no longer a choice between grim and grimmer. We can vote for who we want and win. Anywhere.
It's just one constituency, but the Green victory in Gorton and Denton is an electric shock to our political system.
That the UK - one of the architects of this fund, designed to save the world’s forests - is now refusing to put any money into it is frankly shameful. Starmer’s claim that he still continues to back the fund is meaningless without resources - so much for climate leadership
If any Government can just snatch basic human rights away from any section of society when it pleases then none of us has rights – just privileges that can be taken away by people in power whenever they want

Deeply worrying. I have long suspected that this would be the next stage of his dictatorship
A moving service - the timing of which couldn’t be more relevant!
In electing a serious and fearless progressive, the College of Cardinals looks like pretty much the only electorate in the world that hasn't had its brains boiled by far right propaganda & toxic social media. For a Catholic of my generation, this is an almost unbelievable development.
Well done good and faithful servant. May you rest in peace and rise in glory
UK, 2025: a country where police break into a place of worship and arrest those inside who are having a meeting and might be planning a non-violent action.
The right to peaceful protest is an essential part of a healthy democracy. Governments who crack down on it are governments to be very wary of.
Brexit.
Trump.
Truss.
Boris Johnson.
Netanyahu…
It never ceases to amaze me just how much of our media & politicians waltz away unscathed after being so catastrophically & hideously wrong about all the major moments of our time.
A farmer drives a small blue tractor through a field of tall, swaying grass, framed by thick, green hedgerows. The sky is bright and clear, a picture of productive land working in harmony with nature. This is what a nature-friendly future looks like...farming that supports wildlife, healthy soils, and thriving landscapes. But without stable support, this future is uncertain.
UK Government has halted SFI applications, cutting off support for nature-friendly farming in England. ❌🍃
Farmers need certainty, not funding that’s switched on & off.
Pulling the rug from under them erodes trust, disrupts farming, and stalls critical progress on nature & climate.
A lovely morning walk across the South Down. Sky larks singing their heart out.
"As things stand at the moment we continue to share… that could change."
Former Chair of the Joint Intelligence Committee, Baroness Neville-Jones, expresses "real worries" about continuing to share intelligence with the United States.
#Newsnight
This also raises real questions about intelligence sharing. You are MI6, you have a bit of critical intel which could also burn an asset in Moscow - do you feel comfortable telling the Americans?
Netanyahu has just threatened "unimaginable consequences" under operation "hell plan" for Gazans. The fragile ceasefire hangs in the balance. Britain must make crystal clear: this is absolutely unacceptable. www.theguardian.com/world/2025/m...
Israeli authorities are violating the International Court of Justice’s legally binding orders in South Africa’s genocide case by denying the entry of lifesaving aid and services into Gaza.
Ceasefire or not, Israel is obligated legally as the occupier to facilitate entry of aid.
Blocking humanitarian aid is a clear breach of international law and will lead to more civilian suffering and deaths. UK must take the lead in condemning Israel's actions and calling for aid to be allowed into Gaza.

I’ve seen a preview of ON FALLING - produced by @kenloach16films.bsky.social
- it’s a powerful, gut punching indictment of loneliness, alienation, isolation & the devastating realities of the cost-of-living crisis faced by precarious workers. An important film everyone should see if they can
