Theyโre at the threshold of growth.
Teach them to recognize the momentโnot fear it.

Your high achievers might be most at risk in the age of AI.
Why? They never needed to watch their thinking.
Metacognition isnโt optional anymore. Itโs a survival skill.

๐ง Metacognition is your foreman.
Most students live on the factory floor of thought. Few ever climb the mezzanine to observe it.
Want better learning?

Forget faster. Learn smarter.
The spacing effect isn't optionalโit's foundational.
Structure revision. Strengthen retention. Shape minds.

Students are terrified of picking a future that might not exist. Our response canโt just be career advice. It has to be cognitive engineering. #FutureProof #EduScriptive
Massed practice crams. Spaced repetition trains.
Distributed learning = long-term retention.
Implement before your learners forget.

AI is a tool. Adaptability is the skill. Letโs teach the latter first. #Neuroplasticity #TeacherMindset
Spaced Repetition isnโt new. But most classrooms still ignore it.
Neuroeducation says: Review just before forgetting.
Your memory? Reinforced. Your students? Empowered.

Just as we moved away from the imperial system of measurement to the metric in order to improve our accuracy, so too we can do the same for measuring the capacity of a learner's ability to learn.

Education metrics can be collected by AI far more efficiently than pre-AI tech. Weโll be able to build a much more accurate depiction of our learners. Thus allowing us to make more informed decisions about their learning.

The key is to be explicit in teaching thinking processes and learning processes. Subject knowledge acquisition is evidence of this taking place, but we should use it as one metric not as the goal itself.

AI is no more hallucinatory than us in reality. It far exceeds our subject knowledge and will get more accurate. We have โfactsโ we share that donโt hold up even as teachers, given how prone our memories are to distortion.

Itโs hard to learn from an AI entity that hasnโt gone through what you are going through. The shared experience of learning with the wonderment and limitations of a human brain will be vital for our learners.

Empathic AI currently exists. Hume.ai for example can listen to you speak and through intonation intuit what you are feeling and question you about it. Offering a form of therapy service for you to unpack those emotions.

Proponents of AI tutors have hit a lot of flak. With their outlandish claims for this AI replacing humans in teaching students. This isnโt likely to happen because ultimately we are motivated by emotions

The major difference AI has brought about is the ability to have an interactive wiki. When Wikipedia came along it was an issue for authenticity in education. But fantastic for those searching the site with a critical eye.

Curiosity remains the driving force behind our engagement in education. But cognitive science will allow us to learn well whilst learning fast.

When a problem arises in a project donโt have a โwho is to blameโ mindset. You need to look for the issue in the system. More often than not it isnโt the human.
Donโt seek the culprit, seek the bug.
