This is a big one. Making Next.js deploy well on every major cloud has been a real focus, and the team has been working closely with partners to get it right.

πππππ-πππππ-ππππππππ’ is great for declarative error handling, but it breaks with Server Components: it swallows ππππ΅ππππ() and ππππππππ(), and πππππ() can't re-fetch server data.
Next.js 16.2 ππππππ΄ππππ: framework-aware, and πππππ’() re-fetches RSC data.

A Next.js feature I think more devs should know about:

PageProps auto-types your params and searchParams. Route<T> catches broken links at build time.

TanStack Query is no longer new and shiny, but I have met many React developers in the beginning phase of using it or migrating from Redux to TanStack Query + Zustand. Here is a short video of what it can do for your apps. www.youtube.com/watch?v=QTQm...

We will dissect each topic here to give you an overview of how React developers in 2025 should use a meta-framework and React v19.
3. What type of caching is involved in modern React apps? How is React v19 connected to this modern React development?
2. What is an Async UI component? What mental model do you need when building modern web apps using any React meta-frameworks?
1. There are so many things that react developers need to know today. What is the difference between server-first (NextJS App Router) and client-first approach (React Router v7 and TanStack Start)?
Join me and @aurorascharff.no at @futurefrontend.bsky.social this coming May. See @vercel.com NextJS's server-first approach vs. @tanstack.com Start's client-first approach meta-frameworks in a head-to-head comparison.

The best Nextjs workshop you will ever have. Highly recommended.
To reactjs influencers, please seperate the React Compiler content from the React v19 content. Your followers might think that React Compiler is part of the newly release React v19. π€¦π½ββοΈ
I noticed some developers post here that they don't like eslint or typescript. I get it. No types/linting is fast. The problem is that they might have followers who think that it is ok. It's ok for your project, but it's not ok if someone is paying you while you write unreadable/unmaintainable code.
Please use typescript and eslint in projects, especially if you build apps for your enterprise customers. We all know we won't be working on the same repo forever. So, make the codebase easy to read and have uniformity in code styling for future developers who will take over it.
I have an idea for a new NOSQL database. DurianDB π
Devlin presenting at iJS Singapore.
I'm here at iJS Singapore presenting the latest web development tools: Vinxi, Nitro, h3, Unjs, Nuxt, Analogjs, and TanStack Start. I showed so many things here, and I am looking forward to sharing this as well in Europe next year, 2025. It's time to wrap up my 2024 speaking engagements now. π«‘
