We share a language. We share a culture. No border can separate us. No genocidal rhetoric can kill our roots. To my Persian siblings, I am sorry for what has been endured. This too, will pass.
That's a tough choice but I would lean towards SKS on semi auto capability alone. If you could properly house it in a lighter chassis with good attachment points, you'd have a plenty capable rifle.
Nah, I just have a video recorder on my PVS14, but do have a thermal bridged.

There are a lot of indoor ranges that run competitions including USPSA, so be sure to look into that! Otherwise, be sure to check the rules at your range to determine what you can and cannot do, and find drills to run to address the things that you can and want to work on under those parameters.
(totally dragged the last shot on the second array into a delta here).
It also really helps to record yourself from both first and third person like this - there's much to be gleaned from reviewing your shooting footage afterward.
I certainly need to work on finessing my draw, develop more consistent grip pressures and therefore faster sight picture, can push myself to commit to moving and shooting more readily, and develop a better discipline of visualizing finer points of aim on targets
Competitive shooting has been such a good diagnostic tool for me, while keeping me accountable to the things I want to improve upon. It sets a date and a time to assess where I'm at with my goals.
This is everything.
I'm shaking the rust off for competition season, and I've got plenty to work on! Still, I ran pretty consistent B class runs at this USPSA classifier, and shot all alphas here.
I'm going to really push myself to make A class by the end of the year, wish me luck!

It's not generally going to work out of the box, no. Wireguard needs another TCP on both ends: unix.stackexchange.com/questions/76...
Focusing on one aspect of security and ignoring others is at best a huge blind spot, and at worst, fosters a false sense of security that may catch up to you. Security-minded people in a digital world need to be talking about such concepts more and spreading this knowledge, which is ever-evolving.
Even if you're not immediately concerned about your digital footprint to this extent, even if your use case for how you access the internet doesn't hinge on taking such measures, this is great food for thought to model.
I keep my hands on my gun and my eyes on my sighting system more, nothing gets crossed, there’s no fuss, the rest is fundamentals.
Have others arrived at this conclusion? Am I a fudd yet?
That’s not to say there’s a right answer - that’s exactly the point, this is very subjective and up to the shooter’s preferences. I think that’s a big reason that the ACOG was such a breath of fresh air for me.. it's not fancy, it’s nothing new, but it just works and works the same way every time.
Still, I feel like I keep reverting to fixed magnifications and more purpose-made scopes when I really want to stretch my legs. I love a more intuitive sighting experience, and consistency and repeatability only become more valuable the more I shoot.

How it started vs. how it’s going (don’t you ever just take all your optics off so they can hang out?).
I tried so hard to love LPVOs, and I’ve tried others since my first, but we just never really got along. LPVOs truly are the jack of all trades of optics, which can be a good thing for some!
Field of view is by far the biggest selling point for me, and proven ruggedness and more preferable reticle on top of that. I used to own a PA prism and it was decent, especially for the price, but it's like comparing apples and oranges to me. The PA having a diopter adjustment is nice though.
Or fall in love with it and never sell it like I did. 😄
Also want to add, this replaced an LPVO on the same rifle. I absolutely relied far too much on zooming in and was intimidated by the idea of a fixed magnification prism taking that away. All those fears have been put aside looking back.
I was nailing targets out to 500 yards on first shot on the clock, it's surprisingly easy in my experience. I didn't quite appreciate it until then, but the glass quality and reticle absolutely matters a lot here at such extended ranges. If you can, I'd recommend giving one a try at least.
Some might scoff at the Trijicon tax, and I held off on one for years due to this - I get it. The used market hardly diminishes that price tag, so I just went with a brand new one to ensure the tritium was still fresh, and I’m so glad.
It’s by far my favorite optic now, and well worth it.
My performance with my ACOG at High Desert Brutality 2025 could be chalked up to experience, but I do need to lend some credit to this optic - it objectively made some of those shots and target transitions a breeze when I would have struggled more with other setups.
I also added a Trijicon anti-reflective device and run this alongside an offset Holosun EPS for 1x and quick passive night vision shooting.
