Phyrexian Arena, Skullclamp, and Mana Drain, are all I would not be surprised to see on the list.
As for what does surprise me, most of the multicolor and colorless cards. Notably Grand Arbiter and Trinisphere, where Gaddock Teeg and Sphere of Resistance are excluded.
I think a big challenge is that there is so little room for flavor on cards today. The added complexity at every rarity of the game makes it so the space that does exist for flavor text is at an all time premium. Why don't any of cards quote the actual story?
Its kinda weird that the whole race is about the aetherspark but I very few if any cards really talk about the lore of the aetherspark. I don't even know who won the race or how the race finished. I'm not really one to read many of the stories, online novels aren't really my thing.
I think the overall decrease in flavor text has a lot to do with this as well. Growing up I remember spending hours as a kid just reading through and looking at my cards. Reading the flavor text, piecing things together, and exploring the world of Magic through the cards. That longer is the case.
Says the dude getting blowjobs on boats in broad day light and has his wife parade around in sheer clothing. Guy has some serious post nut clarity shame and can't take personal responsibility so he's blaming porn. GTFO.

I feel like this and Valkyries call do two different things in the deck. One makes more tokens while the other is recursion. How much recursion does the deck have and how much does it need?
I find the 36-38 lands to be my sweet spot depending on the mana curve and demands of the deck. I also try to run 10-12 ramp sources in each deck. together I always want them to add to AT LEAST 45 at the absolute minimum.
Steal everything! Take from stories you love, repurpose, retool, reimagine. You don't have to come up with everything from scratch. There's is no right way to DM but there are some bad ways to do it. Give yourself some grace and above all have fun with it.
A description of the deck's power level, its main win conditions, and an explanation of the deck's main synergies. How the cards are meant to work together to achieve what goals. A deck is generally designed to do a thing, what is that thing and how do the cards work together to do that thing.
I'm surprised they aren't double dipping, pre-print a serialized set, driving fomo to get the special 1st edition. Then print everything else to demand.
I sadly didn't inherit any of his wordsmithing abilities. Here's hoping I also don't die on my birthday.
Sliding my thumb into your mouth and across your tongue while I stare deeply into your eyes... *Intoxicating levels of dominance* Your holes are mine to fill however I please.
I can't choose just one... These are too cute! Great job to all involved in their creation.
No, the deck I'm playing the card in, and the meta I'm playing in are important factors that influence how powerful a card is. Very few cards in a vacuum are easy to evaluate.
Makes me want to see a Lewd-Olympics
You sure can, but this time we're plugging you up afterwards.

Also when playing mono blue I try to fit this into any deck I build. Not as punishing as back to basics but gives that tiny glimmer of hope that it's going to reset while also slowly suffocating them of their colors.

One of my favorite land hate cards to play in a 5c deck. Usually leads to everyone else dropping down to 1-3 lands and leaving me ahead while I continue to press an advantage.
Ironically enough this is what OTG and Duskmourne felt like to me. A gang of MtG characters showing up at random locations and hijinks ensue.

Depends entirely on which hole we're talking about.

Makes me wonder if we're going to get any subtle references to Mario Kart Double Dash in Aethedrift.

I've always wanted to play cost of arms but the draw back was always too dangerous for me. This card is a great iteration on it.
What sets in #Magic does everyone think offer the most accurate representation of the color pie? Immediate logic implies that it would be the most recent, but color pie breaks can happen in any set, so the most recent may not be the best representation. #MtG #MagicTheGathering
