Logging off for a while to experience what life was like before I dove into social media. Maybe I can pull this off, maybe not. We shall see.

Fetterman literally giving Mullin the key vote to be appointed will be something I suspect will be an issue if he runs for re-election.
I am hard pressed to think of any prior President who was solely responsible for causing such immediate unambiguous, and completely foreseeable economic pain. www.nytimes.com/live/2026/03...
On this day in history, March 19, 2003, the Iraq war began.
Historically, not a reassuring headline.

About 70% of the U.S. economy runs on consumer spending.
But as wealth concentrates at the top, the richest 10% can’t spend enough to sustain it — while everyone else can’t afford to.
Reminder that trickle-down economics simply doesn’t make sense. It’s a hoax.
Wow. Martin shut Trump up for over two minutes.
For the last 10 years "I don't want to talk about politics" "Let's not go there" etc etc are defacto admissions of either Trump support or Trump vote.
Cole makes allot of sense here:
MAGA loud at home, suddenly quiet abroad? That’s not pride, that’s a costume.
Political conviction shouldn’t have an off switch the moment you board a plane. Own your choices or reconsider them.

there's got to be a word for the weird feeling when the totally unqualified extremist resigns over the disastrous iran war with a vaguely antisemitic gripe.
By itself, Trump's failure to win over allies won't hurt him with his base. In fact, it'll probably help him. During the Iraq War, the GOP base praised Bush as a hero for putting together a "coalition of the willing" *and* enjoyed hating France and Germany for staying uninvolved ("Axis of Weasels").
ok well good news for anyone who isnt a consumer i guess
“.. Diesel fuel prices in the US—the lifeblood of freight, agriculture, and construction—have risen above $5/gallon.”

Moody’s economic model “put the probability of a U.S. recession—defined as two consecutive quarters of negative GDP growth—at 49%, ‘even before disconcerting events in the Middle East.’”

Epic Folly
If Politico is correct, and that is what Republicans want, it certainly doesn't look like they are trying very hard.

HASSETT: There's no way that President Trump is gonna back down until he sees this through to the end
CNBC: What does that mean -- 'sees this through to the end.' Regime change? The strait is open?
HASSETT: He will decide
RIP Len Deighton:
“When I started writing I had rules. One was that violence must not solve the problem, and I cannot have the hero overcome violence with a counterweight of violence.”
He also worked as an illustrator for six years, including a Penguin Iris Murdoch & a Deutsch Jack Kerouac
This transcribed bit by Aaron undersells it somehow

Psychotic.
TRUMP: We had one who was very ill. Looked like he wasn't going to make it. You want to mention his name?
MIKE JOHNSON: Neal Dunn of Florida had real health challenges
T: His diagnosis was he'd be dead by June
J: Ok, that wasn't public. *audience groans* It was grim is what I was going to say
CNBC Host: "Daily, fertilizers, gas, everything is really going up. The world is really worried about shortages and inflation."
Sec. Bessent: "MSM are manufacturing this into a crisis."
Are his gas and groceries FREE?! If this crisis doesn't affect him, then it doesn't exist?!?!
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Localized, early detected breast cancer has a 99% 5 year survival rate.
Modern mammogram tech was developed by NASA for telescopes.
Last year, RFK Jr. cancelled 87 research grants on breast cancer.

Burger King ran multiple 'nostalgia' ads during the Oscars, which probably cost a couple million bucks.
In-N-Out just got the best ad ever—an Oscar-winning Michael B. Jordan eating and posing at its restaurant—for free.
I wonder if the fact that the US Supreme Court recently ruled that AI generated works are not copyrightable, and thus the entire profit just evaporated, might have been a little bearing on this decision.
I’m sure Chotiner gets him to expose himself in his own inimitable fashion, but my first thought upon reading this headline was “I think we should fling David Boies off the Gordy Howe Bridge with an enormous slingshot,” who wants to be interviewed in favor of my plan?
