I'm trying to diagnose a dead Stannah 250 stair lift, does anyone have a service manual or schematic? Any technical information would be helpful.

Aww, I feel your pain. I hate it when I plan a tasty meal then forget when it's time comes. :(

Spurious Correlations Correlation is not causation: thousands of charts of real data showing actual correlations between ridiculous variables.

It's worth sharing this page of spurious correlations.

Was getting a new washing machine delivered so let the robot vacuum clean the empty spot where it would live. Now there's a permanent bit of the kitchen on his map that he can't access and it makes me feel a bit sad.

I'm always happy when I see this labelling of facilities in a pub or venue. It makes sense.

Thank you for your amazing support and enthusiasm for the Multisystem2. We know lots of you are keen to know when to expect your order. We’ve created some levels (because you know, it’s a games console!) to help give you an idea of where your order is in the shipping process.

I think it's great you're being clear about your progress and so people can see the approximate wait they can expect.

Age verification: what's the harm? | Girl on the Net explains Age verification has hit the UK, people need to upload ID to see 'adult' content. What's the harm in laws like this, if they protect children? Let's see.

#AgeVerification: what's the harm?

In which I distill a lot of casual pub chats I've had with friends into a layperson's guide to the #OnlineSafetyAct. What it is, the problems it causes, and why you should definitely care.

Read it and it's pretty good.

Not hugely useful, but definitely interesting.

Proxmox Virtual Environment 9.0 with Debian 13 released Latest announcements for Proxmox.

Going to leave it a while for the dust to settle (and maybe a 9.0.x release or two) but it looks like there's some upgrading at some point in my future.

Hopefully the inplace upgrade is nice and smooth.

I was also tempted to mention Person of Interest. It's a bit of a slow burner for the first season but worth it.

The boost in VPN signups isn't going to be underage kids accessing porn. It's going to be adults.

Underage kids don't have credit cards to pay for VPNs, adults do. The kids will find 'free VPNs' or other location shifting tools that don't have a monthly cost.

It's the 40th anniversary of the launch of the Amiga!

This platform seemed unstoppable, only a completely screwed up and disjointed company could mess up such a hot item. Unfortunately Commodore was up to that challenge.
There were a few good years of Amiga which is now a retro classic!

As a long time Android user who's getting sent their first ever apple phone for work in the next few weeks, I suspect I'll be having pretty similar issues soon!

If there's a positive takeaway from this it means their tracking is so terrible it's useless.

Remote patching when you don't have physical access to the hardware is risky, even more so when you don't have any kind of duplicate of even emulator locally.

This is a great indepth explanation of patching the software on Voyager 1 while it's out in interstellar space! […]

I did a radio show for 11 years, I still never got used to the sound of my own voice. If I had to do any edits between recording and broadcast I did it in a way where I had to listen to the minimum amount of my own voice.

Amiga A1000 prototype. Fan boards are the CMOS versions of the custom chips, and board at the front is a Wire Wrapped A1000.

Wow... It always amazes me you can replicate complex chips using normal logic chips. 😂
