I’m having mine cold cos I honestly can’t be bothered heating it up. It’s still amazing though and the kefir has settled down the very condensed flavour of the soup.
So me and my cup of soup shall chill out and watch YouTube in bed while I take a day.

While the others scoff into fakeaway leftovers this week my dinner is my own homemade Roasted Tomato and Basil Soup which I waterbathed from the freezer. Tonight I’ve added a little bit of kefir to give it a little something something and voila…. Healthy Cream of Tomato soup.
So I made a Chinese Curry Chicken, Chicken and Veg in Plum Sauce, Fried Rice, Leftover noodles from last night.
Enough meals for 10 people and cost less than a tenner. Yup life is good and you can have nice things on a budget.

Today is my last day of solid food for around 4 months.
We have a lot of veg on the way out and the best way I can think of to use it up so these guys have food for the next couple of days and I don’t have to cook is to throw together some more Asian inspired meals.
Our garden needs help but Tanny is starting to get on top of it.
Last nights stir fry is tonight’s noodle dish.
It doesn’t have to take a lot to change things up and make it more interesting.

It’s also honestly enough for the 3 of us for the next couple of days. There’s even leftover plain rice that wasn’t fried yet so I might freeze it ready for next time we want some fried rice.
Sure the Chinese sausage is a bit expensive, £10.99 for 12, but I only use 2 at a time and the others are frozen until needed. One pack lasts us around 6 months.
The whole thing took around 20 minutes to cook. I can’t get delivery in that time.
The Char Sui Pork was leftover from last nights dinner, the plum sauce is the last jar of last years batch, the veg were leftovers from the veg drawer from the fortnights meals.
Today for less than a tenner I have made Char Sui Pork in Plum Sauce with Fried Rice with Chinese Sausage, Bacon and Egg and it’s enough for a couple of days of meals.
A couple of days ago I bought food that really did disappoint it cost nearly £30 for food for one person.
On the days I can’t work I make sure to watch others do theirs so I can be the absentee supervisor and project manager and give them instructions from the couch. 😂
Have an awesome one and go be as productive as you can be even if it’s from a distance xox
7 jars of Black Cherry Jam.
The cherries £1 a bowl at Kirkgate Market, sugar £1, gas 20p
To buy cherry jam is an average of around £2 a jar.
So for the price of 1 jar of the good, good stuff we got a years worth. I’m good with that.
We saved around £15 … don’t tell me buying it is cheaper.
I have my work cut out for me today. Fruit from Kirkgate Market cost a tenner for all this lot.
Cherries, Plums, Early Season English Strawberries and Flat Peaches. Let’s see how much we can save by making items for the pantry to help carry us through the year rather than buying them.
Less than a fiver including cost of gas making a savings of …. £202.50 I am gob smacked!!!
It pays to put a couple of days aside and do the messy stuff.

18 Litres of Beef Bone Broth later ready for waterbathing tomorrow.
It’s a tough life but someone’s gotta do it 🤣
The bones are off to a couple of very appreciative doggos and the veg will be dug into the beds in the greenhouse over the weekend.
Been here for ages just don’t do much with it yet
Oh and premade lasagne sheets because just no not today am I making fresh pasta.
These changes make it much easier a task and in a couple of months I’ll make him a proper one from scratch my way.
This 5Litre pot of sauce should make him 5 9x9 foil squares and keep him happy for a while.
A few different things I’m doing this time. Jarred sauces because I’ll be buggared if I have to stand and make cheese sauce from scratch at the moment and instead of the pot going in the oven it’s in the slow cooker.
We bought the mince last week and I hadn’t made them yet due to the flare but as it is starting to calm down enough for me to use my hand minimally I figured let’s get on with it.
This is one of the rare occasions I will use my food processor and use the smaller grating plate to prep the veg for the lasagnes Tanny has asked me to make.
At the moment I’m one handed due to a fibromyalgia flare in my right hand. I still have to feed the family though. Which means finding a way.
So yes there will be a video and a whole big batch of these coming soon so watch this space!

We think we’ve found it now though and will be combining the pea version and parsley version together.
We also discovered that gravy just makes them glorious!!! It also makes almost a meat and 2 veg meal in a patty and you can’t be upset about that.
Tanny and I are going to look like potato cakes by the end of this week. We are on a mission though to find the perfect mix so I can make a huge batch and freeze them.
It’s almost time.
Watch this space!!!
Thankyou so much Loverlies it means the world xox
Don’t let anyone tell you you have too many Christmas Sprinkles… you don’t need that kind of negativity in your life… this has taken me 4 years to collect all these and I have a few more packs arriving today … cos sprinkles!!!

Shortbread is one of the easier and most versatile biscuits you can possibly learn. It makes a great alternative to pastry for tarts and pies, it can be made into all kinds of shapes and sizes and it can be combined with just about any flavour combination you can come up with.
Basically I could get another bottle and make twice as much for the cost of one lot from the supermarket. I figure that’s a massive win!!!
