Found out about them last week, and within 10 minutes of watching their live set I was like “you sonofabitch I’m in“

Put in some sweaty hours over the weekend playing Leagues VI. I finished a busted crossbow build that hits for 70+ damage, got my T7 relic, and had some fun with bossing content that I normally wouldn't do on my UIM. I had a ton of fun, but I think I am going to call it here for this Leagues.

I think it might be for the shard piece, since there is a task to make the shield. That plus every single person going wildy is probably going cbow, which means like 90% of people need a rune chow as a stepping stone (I did the same thing lol), which is rough when there is just one boss :(

I totally see where you are coming from. I didn’t really start having fun until like 12+ hours in specifically because it took that long to get my build online. That actually feels like a pretty big weak spot of this mode, and I’m not sure if it was intentional from the devs or not.

I don’t know if you are feeling the same way, but this leagues feels like just a completely different game to me, which is good for novelty, but also not why I play OSRS. 🤷

Doing my first leagues this year so I have no reference, but I am finding I burned out pretty quickly.

I got a busted build online and am looking forward to doing some scuffed raids on and off over the next few weeks, but after unlocking my T7 relic I feel like I will probably put it down.

Ooof with that luck! Hopefully the blue man will spawn for you soon to kickstart the process 🧞

I've been using xp lamps on it. Once you get to natures in Karamja then you can run natures with essence, but the first levels were all random event lamps and the easy combat task lamp for me.

Don’t forget the part where the ADHD takes over and you go on random unnecessary side quests, spending 200 hours inexplicably fletching as part of a goal that you have long sense forgotten, before coming to your senses and going “wait how does this get me a gear upgrade again?”

The codebase distracts you with the weird braces and indentation so that you don’t have time to focus on the strange implementation defined behavior that has been around since before I was born and which can never change.

Jai is what first got me into PL development. My mind was absolutely blown as a teenager seeing the compile-time metaprogramming stuff. But like you said, it has been 10+ years now, and there are more interesting languages that take the idea and run with it better (and without the J Blow baggage).

I always wanted to do some sort of Varlamore locked account, because the area really is just so interesting, but ain’t nobody got free time for that. So this Leagues is the closest thing to a Varlamore-locked account I’ll probably see, and I gotta say, it is works really well!

Playing OSRS Leagues for the first time this year. I normally play an Ultimate Ironman as my main account, so this is quite the new experience. Look at this great quality of life feature the devs added! 😲

I had an AI bot post a comment under a GitHub issue of mine containing of what appears to be the direct output of OpenClaw run on the issue/project 🤮

I am honestly more sad that it wasn't a real person genuinely interested in my work than I am angry that someone pointed the slop cannon at me 😔

How long does GCC normally take to build on this range of hardware? Your post is giving me "LLVM/Clang taking 12 hours to build on my college laptop" flashbacks. 🥲

A character sheet of Ashley in three poses taking up the left, center, and right side of the image.

Ashley is a college-aged student in her third or fourth year of university studying computer science. She has a strong desire to learn from first principles and build things from scratch, which occasionally prevents her from reaching out for help and building upon the foundation of others. Ashley has a medium skin tone with warm undertones, brown eyes, and maroon shoulder-length hair. She wears purple pants, a black belt, a dark grey t-shirt that is tucked into her pants, and a pair of Black converse shoes.

On the left side of the character sheet, Ashley is standing with her weight back on her left foot. She has her arms crossed around a green book and is staring at the viewer with a slight grin.

In the middle of the character sheet, Ashley sits with her legs half crossed. She is staring at that same green book, now cracked open and held up to her face with her left hand. Behind the book, you can she Ashley has an inquisitive, almost puzzled expression. In her right hand Ashley holds a cup of coffee in a white mug.

On the right side of the character sheet, Ashley is standing relaxed with her hands lifted in what almost appears to be a shrug. She seems to be talking with someone else and wears a smile.

This is also the first blog post of mine featuring Ashley, a new character on the blog illustrated by the talented @citrineanna.bsky.social! Ashley will portray the student character within Socratic dialogues in this and upcoming blog entries! 👩‍🎓

The Mellifera Interpreter Now Runs In Your Browser Mellifera, my scripting language featuring value semantics, now runs in your web browser! Seriously, try it now - click the run button under the script below and you should see "hello 🐝" printed to the output text area.

New blog post - The Mellifera Interpreter Now Runs In Your Browser: ashn.dev/blog/2026-04...

Showing off how my (previously CLI-only) scripting language can run in locally in your browser using WebAssembly, why that has me excited, and why it is important for language accessibility. 🐝

One of the benefits of a hand-written parser is that one can make QOL improvements to error messages in weird edge cases over time.

Elm and Rust set the bar so high for error messages though, it feels like we (and my we I mean definitely me) are all still catching up.

Let's annotate.
1. Begins with a CLEAR statement laying out WHO the culprit is and what he is doing.
2. Specifically says what he thinks needs to happen next.
3. Calls out his own institution.

THIS IS THE BASEMENT in terms of a response & his colleagues are underground.

Honestly, the great crisis of our society is the unwillingness of institutions to inflict consequences.

Impeach the president, fire the sex pests, expel cheating students, excommunicate an unrepentant heretic, prosecute the war criminals.

Believe in your institution enough to enforce its rules.
