Kourtney has been trying to rectify that her entire life, chronicling the stories of her people, their history, and their culture in her Kremling Kronology. Now that she's free from the Planet Core, she has a LOT of writing to catch up on - in fact, she seems more interested in writing than actually playing. She's always jotting something down, but don't think that makes her helpless! She may have reformed a Kutlass sword into a pen, but a sword is still a sword, as the Kutter Spin technique will remind anyone in a circular radius around her. With a Super Spike, she can strike the ball with her scroll like a long (and rather educational) whip!

Kourtney has SO MUCH Kremling lore to catch up on since she was freed from the Planet Core that she's writing it all down during her Spikers League matches. Don't think that means she's a bad player though - that pen she's using doubles as a sword!

not a Sandile reference; it was actually color-picked from various parts of Kourtney's casual outfit! I thought making the different "stripes" different colors would be a cool touch

like it's really funny booting up Tropical Freeze, or even Mario Strikers Battle League, and thinking "K. Rool is stuck in the planet core at this point in the timeline"

refusing to have the Kremlings in Returns and Tropical Freeze was a pretty questionable decision at best, but I think they recontextualized their absence in Bananza so well that it retroactively makes the fact the Returns duology didn't use them cooler lmao

and since these are other people's characters, i tend to be inclined to go even more "all-out" on these ideas than i normally would. it results in some really fun "remixes" of these characters I think

thanks! I wish I did fan characters more often, because it's really fun reading up on their bio, personalities, abilities, etc. and using all that as a springboard to apply a lot of what I call "Mario Strikers/Title Defense Punch-Out-inspired 'souped up' design mentality"

i feel like this comes from a lack of understanding that most games, even modern ones, have some really janky stuff going on if you look under the hood, and it's just that games like Mario 64 or Pokemon Red/Blue are super well-documented

comments like this only really happen because people go to watch Kaze or pannenkoek's videos, assume the really niche smaller bits of the game you'd never really even see normally make the up the entire game experience, and then put on their big "game developer" hats to say this shit
