even if it seems to work at first, what happens when it hits an edge case and finally breaks? do you know enough to fix it? even if you're a good coder, it could take ages to find the bugs in a code you're unfamiliar with - code you've deliberately unfamiliarized yourself with.

like, i am not a coder, but i know just enough to know that the bigger and more complex the code, the more absurd it is to just throw in code you haven't written yourself into that pre-existing code, because you have no idea how they'll interact. coding requires deliberate intent and understanding

maybe i'm just not getting it, but every time AI-assisted coding has been explained to me it just sounds like you're setting a ticking time bomb for yourself by generating code you don't actually understand.
