Der Bereich links oben am Rand der Sonne in gelber Farbe, wobei wir etwas am Kontrast geschraubt haben. So heben sich am Rand, auf den wir hier per Ausschnittvergrößerung stark gezoomt haben, die leuchtenden Plasmabögen noch besser vor dem schwarzen Hintergrund des Alls ab. Diese Bögen reichen fein strukturiert wie dünne glühende Fäden in die Umgebung und zurück zur Oberfläche. Die Bogenform kommt zustande, weil die hier ausströmende Sonnenmaterie elektrisch nicht neutral, sondern geladen ist - wie das eben bei einem Plasma der Fall ist. Dadurch reagiert sie auf die Magnetfelder, die sie wie in Schläuchen gefangen halten. Das passiert auf der Sonne immer wieder, sieht heute aber besonders schön aus.

Weil‘s gerade so spektakulär aussieht, hier eine kleine wochenendliche Zugabe in Form eines aktuellen Bildes der Sonne via Satellit SDO.

I decided that 25.5 hours was finally enough for this wider shot of the Whirlpool Galaxy (M51). I shot it in both LRGB & HaLRGB. I also included a tighter crop that looks surprisingly sharp since it was taken with a 400mm focal length telescope.
