Thanks to the unhinged Netflix show “Floor Is Lava”, my 16 month old, who can say about 20 words, can loudly announce “woh ehs WAVA!”
…which prompts my four year old to launch off of furniture with no regard for consequences, but with much dramatic flair.
Great show. 11/10.

I’m re-reading NIGHTBITCH by Rachel Yoder because it’s the most viscerally relatable book about motherhood that I’ve ever read and I needed that healing again. Which probably says much more about me than it does about the book but I also love darkly comedic magical realism and lycanthrope tropes.

My baby loves washing their hands and also can’t talk yet so when they want to ask to wash their hands they wander around the house rubbing their little hands together like they’re a tiny Act 5: Scene 1 Lady Macbeth.
As someone who spends a lot time thinking about the values I want to teach my kid (besides PLEASE DON’T EAT DIRT), the thing I keep coming back to is this: I want him to believe that the strongest, bravest thing he can do is give a shit about other people—especially ones who aren’t like him at all.
Sparkle Smash is totally a drag queen and Gravedigger is a horror queen, but some of them, like Monster Mutt and El Toro Loco are DEFINITELY furries

We’ve been watching an elephant documentary on repeat lately, and I’m really relating to this elephant family’s food situation - they spend the rainy season absolutely gorging on fruit and nuts and anything they can get their trunks on, and then spend the dry season eating, like, sticks and stuff
Folks are shocked that their institutions, after professing commitments to climate justice and DEI, are now caving to Trump and scrubbing all references.
It's brutal.
And it's the smallest taste of what our students felt when their universities called in the cops b/c they protested a genocide.
