I used to watch a lot of "contrarian" right wing youtube during the pandemic. I stopped after about a 1.5 years when I realized all they were doing was asking questions and whinging. They never provided solutions or answers. Only questions.
Questions w/o an interest in solving them gets us no where
Great picks this year! Though a Q for academy members: how is Wicked eligable?
It's a clear adapted score. Every cue uses music from the musical that came out 20 years ago. Thus it breaks the original music eligibility, no?
Honestly curious as I'm confused how Wicked makes it while Dune did not.
I love the Wicked score, but i’m
surprised it was eligible considering it doesn’t pass the 80% rule of using pre-existing music (as the score is technically an adapted score from the musical’s melodies 👀)
The Davinci Code score is often remembered for just the “Chavalier de Sangreal” but i’m here to remind the internet that the whole score is fantastic!! Highly underrated Zimmer & co score. as is the sequel score Angels and Demons)
Went to Goodreads to see what people are thinking of Wind & Truth #StormlightArchive book 5, and YIKES there is some homophobia that I did not expected from this fandom…
I love this for you! My wife and I are like this with Spirited. Idk what it is, we just adore it
they do this so all the business people, who’s decisions inadvertently causes the harm and deaths of everyday people, can feel better about themselves
The Greeks absolutely had it right when they included a chorus in their plays. They knew audiences are dumbasses who need to be told “THIS MAN IS BAD. HE IS HERE AS AN EXAMPLE OF WHAT *NOT* TO DO. WOE TO THE BUMPTIOUS FOOL WHO WOULD IDOLIZE HIM. YOU ARE NOT, NOR DO YOU WANT TO BE, ALEX DELARGE”
Used Oboe in my latest theme. What are the chances it gets replaced? #FilmComposerProblems
Who's betting on a "we love it, but can you remove the clarinet?" (translation: oboe)
New episode of Hot Wheels Racerverse out today!
As with the Star Wars episodes, this Jurassic World episode let me develop my Hot Wheels Racerverse themes into the style and world of John Williams and Michael Giacchino-- and it was a blast!!

I love the Charlie Brown Christmas special. There's an eerie loneliness that hangs over the whole thing. The music, Charlie Brown's depression, the dying little tree, the flatness of the children's voices, the inevitability of death. A Christmas masterpiece.
Hey #soundtrack community, what are your favourite scores to play during winter?
I'm partial to
- Polar Express
- Home Alone
- Nutcracker Four Realms
- Christmas Carol (Alan Silvestri)
Rock, I luv yeah, but no for exactly the same reason. Other people have spent their hard earned money to see a money in peace, let them… there are “sing along” showings for a reasons. If people want to sing so bad, they can go to those, don’t make the rest of us suffer the ametuers
youtu.be/CRR4IySTtec?... this episode gave the opportunity to write a theme for Boba Fett, a sly tip toeing theme for our iconic bounty hunter.
For the past year I’ve been scoring this thrilling children’s series HOT WHEELS: RACERVERSE!
Each episode incorporates characters from major IP which allowed me to flex my musical muscles in their respective styles. The Star Wars ones I am especially proud of!

thanks Erik!!
THRILLED to share my friend, Chris Reineck & I won BEST ORIGINAL SCORE FOR A SHORT FILM (LIVE ACTION) at t HOLLYWOOD MUSIC IN MEDIA AWARDS for our score for SPACEMAN!
Thanks Hollywood Music in Media Awards for the award and for a great night!
(Chris couldn’t make it; I’m tired as heck, but yay!)
thanks for this!
Inspired by Charlie Brigden's soundtrack music group (link in comments), I thought I'd create a group near and dear to my heart. Here's a starter pack for people/accounts creating Film, TV & Video Game Music radio shows/podcasts. Please let me know who I should add to the list.

I used to work in a factory when I was 18, and would bop my head along to the machinery cause there was a pretty clear rhythm and tonality.
I got called into the main office like 3 times because people kept thinking I was listening to music on the job xD
so yeah, pretty much anything can be music
loving both Henry Jackman’s score for Red one and Harry Gregson-Williams’ score for Gladiator II!
Both bring back feelings of early 00s film music which creates mad nostalgia for this millennial film music fan. #Soundtrack fans what other scores do you recommend this year?
(I ADORED Wild Robot!)
