Drove out of town for a '68 Dodge Charger 500. Gave the guy cash to hold it. My brother went back out with a friend to bring the rest of the $$ / drive the car home. Seller had sold the car out from under me. Still kinda miffed by that one. Ah well. Ended up with a 68 Coronet 500 a few years later.

Hear me out, four drones ... and a baton.
What if there were four machines, and some manner of baton, also for no reason?

I suspect some of it has to do with Epiphone having a little more latitude for change without upsetting the purists. I'm definitely going to check one out in person and see how the build quality is.
I can see that. The Explorer and Flying V are the only ones I'll consider. I'm kind of a headstock snob, and Epi headstocks just don't do it for me.
Congrats! That's awesome.
This is a dance-off. If you see this, repost with a dance.
Yeah, that tracks.
I finally got to see them live a few years back. It had been a long time coming, and was a great show.
You should get some help from someone called Mike.
Oh, I haven't played one yet. Just found out about the new series earlier today and the Explorer caught my eye.
It was definitely a learning experience. I should have used CA accelerator straight away. Was foolish and didn't think I'd need it.
in fact, brick of bees wax is blurry in the background of this shot. :)
Most definitely. I've got a small brick of bees wax that I use for such things. Thanks. I used black CA glue in lieu of new lacquer. Works great.
This guitar was of unknown provenance. Picked it up off Reverb as it is a less common LP Studio w/ ebony fretboard. There was definitely no wax on the screw. I should have been more patient w/ my extraction. The fix ended up fine enough all the same. :)
I've got a '76 reissue. I feel like a Labrador clearing a coffee table with its tail, when I try to maneuver around with it strapped on. :)
I think this run only has a 335 for that style guitar.
Black guitar with a new strap button to replace previous damage.
And the fix. Not 100% factory showroom, but def good enough for a 35 year old guitar that's seen some use.
Guitar with strap button screw torn out of body leaving a large hole.
Here's my strap button injury. :)
Oh, that is awesome!
I haven't spent new Gibson money since 2020. I still regret that a bit. Nice guitar, but definitely not money I should have spent.
When removing a set of strap locks, I sheered the upper screw and had to dig into the body of my Les Paul Studio. I managed to patch it up, but dang it looked bad initially.
It does make it a bit of a tough sell, but the ebony and stainless steel frets are certainly more premium options. I'll def need to see one in person and see how it stacks up.
I do have the speed knobs on my current Explorer, but both my LPs have top hat knobs. Way classier. :)
They are a little whack, but I kinda like it w/ the knurled chrome knobs vs the black speed knobs usually on Explorers.
On first glance, I thought this was the "best free restaurant bread" article. :)
