The #symphony of the kitchen: the clatter of knives; the metallic clash of pots and pans; the burble of boiling liquids; the scrape of a metal spatula against the bottom of a pan; the occasional scream, cut off short. "I told you not to eat the sous chefs! I need them!" #vss365 (symphony)

It's disappointing to say in the least! 😡 You'd think they would know better, but here we are unfortunately. I didn't vote for him and technically am Gen X, not making excuses for any of this bc it all pisses me off, just know some of us definitely don't think that way and are fighting back.

Music icon Bob Mould to deliver keynote address for 2025 Commencement Mould, who formed the punk rock band Hüsker Dü with two friends during his first year at Macalester in 1978, will also receive an honorary degree.

I am honored and humbled beyond words. I hope I can find those words by May 17.

I’ve performed in 25 states, sharing the songs of our history. But now, my work is being silenced—by defunded grants, rising costs, and political censorship. I need your help.

We're saving music from being lost to history. We need federal money. | Letters Museums, including ours, rely on IMLS support to carry out our missions. President Trump is cutting it.

I have many thoughts about various things in the world right now which will end up in one big post and how it's impacted me and my work, but at the moment, I'm sharing this.

'Alarm’ was originally a call to arms.

The Italian phrase ‘all’arme!’ means literally “to arms” or “to your weapons.”

We'd still probably hit 'snooze.'

a friend reminded me today that Roberta was the first artist to win back to back Record of the Year Grammys with “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" in 1972 and "Killing Me Softly With His Song" in 1973

I love the 70s.

RIP dear Roberta

This country has seen some bad moments in the 61 years, 5 months, 16 days I’ve been on this Earth. But it has never, ever before come close to the supertoxic level of stupidity, mendacity, narcissism, nihilism, and moral apathy that threaten to destroy it today.

Lovely - my desktop photo has a very similar look! 😊 I took this in 2022 during the ALHFAM conference while on the ferry, and it's been my desktop photo ever since.

This last one is downright "Orwellian" in its vibe, and affects my #WorldWarOne and #WomensSuffrage programs directly. I could now easily be stopped for performing songs that speak the truth.
