Persistence pays off. Got a gig today at a brewery where I played 2 gigs as an opener in 2023. Been trying for over a year to get booked again. Sent my open dates this morning to the booker; by this afternoon, I got the gig.

2001, my whole right side, partially paralyzed. Went to a chiro, who said he’d do an adjustment. Didn’t like what I heard so I left.
Went to a PT, who refused to touch me; said it was neurological. Neurologist: I need cervical discectomy w/spinal fusion. Chiro would have paralyzed me.

So damn good. “Time The Avenger” just friggin’ rocks.

Follow-up: I teach 5 sixth-grade special ed students, who took their mid-year today. 4 of the 5 exceeded their mid-year goal, and 2 of the 5 exceeded their end-of-year goal.

My wife earned a whole-lot more than I did when we were both in the corporate world. No big deal. She retired at the end of 2019, and I’ll be happily retiring in June, at age 60.

Back to school today, but on a 2-hour delay. On a Friday. Which means kids show up (if they show up at all) at 11 :15 AM for a 5-hour day, then it’s the weekend!!
