these are great, Leslie, I hope you keep making them!

Normally I'd just paint on a Normal layer, but in instances where I separate lighting and shadows to its own layer I'll use a Hard Light layer. I fill it with 50% grey first, set the color picker to pick only from the current layer, and then paint and blend the lighting on that layer.
I'm happy with Krita for the work I do, but for comics the text tools must have been very off-putting. Noticed they got a full rework in the most recent update though, might be worth peeping.
a good song from a good game :)
Pixel art, to me, is a style that doesn't over-explain itself and leaves room for the viewer's imagination to participate and fill in their preferred details. That can be very effective, and can in a way make the art feel more personal to the viewer, whether they realize it or not. I love that.
Thank you! I'm glad to hear that. :)
Yooo, I did not expect this much new stuff, what the hell

Mewgenics is such a good game, I love it
Very curious, and a bit nervous, about what Blizzard is gonna do with the upcoming Diablo 2 update. Keeping my fingers crossed for no substantial power creep. 😅 And maybe I can even have a big teleport nerf as a treat?
The past couple of weeks I've been doing a bunch of quick drawings as a much needed break from bigger labor-intensive ones. Here's one of them! | patreon.com/calm
thank you, lmao
Thanks!

Played it a bit! The art is jaw dropping, so I wish I was more into the souls-style of gameplay. 😅 I gravitate more towards tactical combat than that style of reflex-testing action combat, so I sadly bounced off of it pretty quick. Props to those devs for trying something a bit different though!
I can see how that's true for some, depending on what you look for. For me they're very different. D1 seems to aim for tactical combat and randomized loot and environments, has more room to experience things other players aren't. Souls games feel like more of a curated experience that tests reflexes
Diablo 2 is likely still my most played game to this day, and it's my favorite game of all time. 👍 I think my dream game would be a bit slower paced though! I really like how a slower movement speed, like in Diablo 1, forces me to think even more about tactical movement and positioning.
Modern Path of Exile 1 is the prime example of "dubstep remix gameplay". :) I've played it a lot, so I can't say I dislike it entirely, but I think I might be done with it. I like Grim Dawn, but it is also halfway to chaos, TQ is great (but the newer expansions are all good and bad in various ways).
I've heard a little bit about it. Will probably check that out sometime :)
That's not to say I want the dubstep remix variant of arpgs to go away, I just kinda wish modern arpgs weren't such a monoculture.
I was watching some modded Diablo 1 gameplay recently and it struck me how much better the pacing of that gameplay is to me than most newer arpgs. It's slow enough to allow it to actually be tactical. Normal enemies can be dangerous and live for longer than 0.1 second. Loot is scarce. It's awesome.
I'm realizing the Diablo-style arpg genre has over the years turned into the equivalent of a sensory overloading dubstep remix of an old song I've enjoyed. There are parts there I can enjoy, but I enjoy it because of what it kept of the original, not because of what the remix added or changed.

Happy birthday!
Not just lust in general, but I'll keep it a secret for now. :)
Thanks! :)
Thank you! It is maybe unsurprisingly a lust cult 😏
I hope I'll get around to elaborate a bit on the lore there sometime. :)
Lmao thanks
Thank you!
