Germany gets 60% of its power from renewables and is shutting down its coal plants. No blackouts. No high bills. Every right wing lie about renewables has been proven false.

Pete Hegseth better make sure he gets a pardon

Because it sure looks like he violated the Posse Comitatus Act

"Whoever..uses..the [military] as a posse comitatus or otherwise to execute the laws shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than two years, or both"

18 US Code § 1385

Congressional Republicans are turning their backs on Americans to pay for tax cuts for the ultra-wealthy.

This budget resolution lays the foundation for Trump to gut Medicaid and strip resources from seniors, veterans, those with disabilities, children, and working families.

What makes this visual even more stunning is that it was made possible by people who said their #1 concern when voting was the economy. What idiots.

We're not a $2M line in Florida's books lol but my husband and I will not go to Florida while Trump is in office. I wonder how other families have made that decision.

NEW: A searing editorial in the The Kyiv Independent.

“It’s time to say it plainly. America’s leadership has switched sides in the war. The American people have not, and they should speak up.

“A president just disrespected America in the Oval Office. It wasn’t Zelensky.”

I would argue that the president of the US is no longer the leader of the free world. The world has and will continue to move on without the United States.

I am trying to find a balance between staying informed, finding hope, and the anxiety that the state of the country and where it seems to be heading is making me feel.

It all seems so bleak right now.

call your republican reps and point out how weak not standing up to Elon makes them look.

I've taken up a new strategy when calling my reps, since I live in a red state:

I have taken to pointing out how weak the Republican party looks by not standing up to Elon. After all, the power of Congress comes from controlling the budget, and they're just letting him take that power away.

The attack on education in the US has been ongoing for the last 20 years. The last ten years especially. Defunding programs or classes like research was by design... And it's heartbreaking.

I realize I had an unfair advantage, because I went to a very academically rigorous private school. That's simply not the reality for most. But having a high level of education could and should be true for all children. Adding research would be a great start. (Maybe in 4 years).

I wish it was a required class.

I did get in trouble for quoting YouTube once lol. But after a while they added it to the AP guidelines, cause if you're writing a paper about YouTube it becomes necessary.

And millennials had wikipedia... Except that some of us had amazing teachers that said: Do better. Look beyond Wikipedia and check your sources.

I had a whole research class in middle school, and I'll always be thankful for it.

Right? If only there had been another option, and people had told us until they were blue (haha) in the face about the consequences of the election.

I agree. Glad they're retaliating. Sad for us.

My guess is: If you went red in this election, you're considered red until future notice. (I live in Louisiana so I'm pretty solidly fkd)

If you are a federal worker being offered a buyout, I would advise against taking it.

Of course, this is a personal decision for everyone and it’s your choice.

But these offers are a rush job. The legality is questionable and this admin does not keep to its word.

They aren’t firing for a reason.

I find it so awkward. Like. If you're calling or thinking of the president as 'daddy' please discuss that with your therapist. I, personally, do not have daddy issues.

What they don't seem to understand is that I don't have daddy issues.

Where is the line? What is next? Here is what I think will happen: now that Elon got away with doing it, Trump will do it next. His base will think it's funny because he is owning the libs. They will start doing it too... This is how they'll identify each other, and easily single us out.

You're right lol. Feeling pretty defeated today. I'll try and find the hope sometime before the midterms.
