It does suck. I do hope things get better for you.

Im sorry youre going through this. Shit is tough, but I think the world is a better place with you in it
Look itβs simple we want less stress and we want to be able to buy pet food and paper towels and body wash on the same day again without it being a major financial event and we want Wishbone back and those are the things we want
teaaaa
I think session zero is more for the group than it is about learning the game.
There probably are systems that can be pick up and play.
But more importantly session zero is a way to figure out the group dynamic, the player limits, getting a vibe check, and getting everyone on the same page.
Round 2: Please ask me questions about me made up home brew world (it's really helping me to pin down details)
Home brew made for a possible DnD 5e game.
Fantasy map featuring a series of nations, red to mark the Uralis empire with Ural, Idris, Avon, Siawl, and part of a landmass named Golath. Blue marking the Sevran republic with Seva, Tek, Ranka, and Oris Light blue to indicate a group of land masses that is currently contested between the two groups.
There is also the Sevran Republic, a grouping of other nations much farther away.
Aware of each other and accepting sparse trade in the past, the Uralis Empire is now at war with them, primarily over a newly found resource rich chunk of land to the south.
There's also null spots of no magic that seems to drain the life from everything.
And there are the realms of the gods and hells
So yeah, lots of realms though planar travel is the stuff of legend and not common.
Below the cloud line there's a lot of weird stuff, ancient ruined civilizations
There are other planes of existence. The elemental planes.
Below the clouds there's pockets of areas where wild magic is so concentrated it's like the Feywild (and some think it is another realm leaking into the world)
There are smaller "desert" islands along the coast that don't appear on that map, top of the map is tundra, the bottom gets more tropical. The smaller "islands" are just chunks of land that aren't large enough to be viable for habitation.
--
Some info:
Primarily the story takes place in the Uralis Empire, a series of "islands" that consist of the land that is higher altitude than the chaos storm that has coated the world for a millennia.
Ural rapidly expanded at first but has been a relatively peaceful empire until recently.

orange lizard with fire on its tail in a style inspired by traditional tattoo style and heraldic creatures
For whatever reason I decided I wanted to draw pokemon in a traditional tattoo style.
I dunno traditional tattoo style so it ended up looking more like a heraldry critter.

>.< my cracked tooth really fucked me over, and this squeeze from inflation and increased rent and increased gas prices.
I might need to open a go fund me to pay for my teeth not being broken.
Legs aren't bad. I hear the tenders can be sensitive but if it's one good pull it stings then its fine.
Dunno about chest but I imagine its same as legs
Depends on where...but it stings and the pain fades quickly.
Lip wax has made me sneeze on the rare times I've done it.
Leg wax. Eh, its like putting a strip of duct tape on your leg and ripping it off. Not that bad tbh
Ahhhhh! The cat is out of the bag!
I am so beside myself, honored and ecstatic to be one of the GoHs at @anthrosocal.org in September!
Let's party it up in Cali yall! ππΊ
A crow just popped up to start cawing loudly at my black cat while she was sitting in the window.
The cat in turn started to peep peep back at the crow.
I feel like I just walked in on an occult meeting.
Maybe they'll have a protoge or recommendation
My current dentists are so nice, and they get it.
They give me a weighted blanket and I can listen to my headphones
Never had to defend my anxiety or anything. I just go "sorry I got this thing" and they're like "on it, gotcha"
My dentist anxiety is so bad, one time they took my blood pressure then immediately turned on soothing music.
I failed the blood pressure test.
Anyway today I went to the dentist and I got a sticker lol.
I will check it out. I'd been hearing good things about iTV and finally caved.
So glad i did. Ted Lasso is so good and honestly it just feels so nice to watch nice people on TV.
That it's not another "the world is bad and you have to be a dick to get by"
Nah, lookit this nice man just trying.
I love everyone except *spoiler*

Fuck Nate!
So I am slow and it takes me forever to finally watch things.
Anyway I've finally started watching Ted Lasso. I've never been so into a sports show.
Amazing.
This doesn't apply to stuff where its player talking to player like "hey, I feel like Im not being heard at the table" yes, please talk to me.
But if it's like "hey, your trash fire gremlin shouldn't trust these people" tell my trash fire gremlin in game!
Not bringing up problems in character.
"I think this is a bad idea" "does your character say that?" "No"
I get sometimes it's easier to talk and plan OOC but,
It's a role playing game, I want to be a character, pleeeease give me something to react to!
Best of luck!
It might be hard for them to get out of a defensive mindset (I know I can fall into that)
It might take some prep like "hey, this is what im doing when I say this, this is the kind of response Im hoping for."
No that's annoying.
"I feel..." is an introduction to discussion on a serious topic.
"No I dont" shuts the discussion down.
Even if they dont feel its true something like "I dont think I do, but why do you feel that?" Actually engages discussion.
