When a fascist fires a fascist for not being fascist enough π€·πΌββοΈ
Mike Pence got totally owned here: Jewish plaintiffs won a ruling against Indiana's abortion ban, using the law he signed 11 years ago as governor to help evangelicals refuse to cater gay weddings and such. Now similar challenges could win in other red states. We tell the story at @forward.com.
I would just like to say that I am not the human equivalent of a ChatGPT vending machine. You may not insert your prompts and expect me to spit out paragraphs for you 3 seconds later. π
Is this the enchattification of everything? π€¦πΌββοΈ
"The story would be baffling, except that thereβs an obvious explanation: Somebody close to Trump knew what he was about to do, and exploited that inside information to make huge, instant profits."

Excellent - please read and share:
6 months before bombing Iran and closing the Strait of Hormuz, the Trump admin fired the State Dept. oil and gas experts.
The people who modeled exactly this scenario.
The ones with contacts at Gulf energy ministries.
Now nobody knows who to call.
You can't make this up.ββββββββββββββββ

NYT on Feb. 13, 2026: The visit also demonstrated the relative foreign policy inexperience of Ms. Ocasio-Cortez, who has made a few overseas trips since taking office but does not sit on any House committees devoted primarily to world affairs. She struggled at times to formulate succinct answers at a nighttime panel session, during which she was asked probing and specific questions about how to respond to international crises. Questioned about whether the United States should send troops to defend Taiwan if China invaded the island, she stalled for roughly 20 seconds before offering a substantive response. βI think that, uh, this is such a, a β you know, I think that β this is a, um β this is of course, a, uh, a very longstanding, um, policy of the United States,β Ms. Ocasio-Cortez said, before saying that the country should try to avoid reaching that point with China in the first place.
NYT on March 16, 2026: On Monday, Mr. Trump claimed that βnumerous countries have told me theyβre on the way,β noting that President Emmanuel Macron of France would most likely help in the Strait of Hormuz and was an eight out of 10. βNot perfect, but itβs France,β he said. Others are not demonstrating sufficient enthusiasm for his demands, he said.
Last month the NYT said AOC "struggled" to give an answer on Taiwan and quoted her with "uhs" and "ums" to make her look stupid
Yesterday talking about Hormuz Trump claimed he's heard from "numerous countries" and said "uh" four times. The NYT deleted the "uhs" and paraphrased him to look smarter:
A screenshot of the Polymarket website showing a prediction market titled "Nuclear weapon detonation by...?" under the Geopolitics and Ukraine categories. The market displays three betting options with their current probabilities and "Buy Yes" or "Buy No" prices: "March 31" at 5%, "June 30" at 12%, and "Before 2027" at 22%. The total trading volume shown is over $843,000.
Polymarket has created a betting market on the use of nuclear weapons. Everyone involved in this should be put in prison for life.
"war crime automation" was the buzzphrase we did not want to need πππππ
Huge thanks go out to the Spelman College Future Public Health Leaders Club and to its leader, Mackenzie Hickson, for organizing a #BrownSPH visit! We were inspired to meet these passionate, driven #SpelmanWomen committed to public health research and service!
Clueless rich scolds are so intensely irritating.
My observation is that poor folks use a highly rational nutritional metric when deciding how to spend their inadequate food π΅. That metric is kcals per $1. Soda comes out on top. Do the math.
