I agree, this course has showed how context-based communication is. The theories we learned helped me understand why people interact the way they do. #UTcommtheory

My biggest takeaway is realizing how communication theories explain everyday interactions. Uncertainty Reduction and Social Penetration had helped me understand how people form relationships and communicate clearly. #UTcommtheory

Hi,

I like this theory too, it makes it easy to connect what we learn to real and fictional relationships. #UTcommtheory

My favorite theory was the Family comm. Patterns Theory because it shows how families communicate. It helped me understand my own communication habits clearly. #UTcommtheory

Yes agenda setting still matters because media shapes what we notice and talk about. The algorithms act as gatekeepers, boosting certain topics and hiding others, which affects how I view issues and interact with people online and offline. #UTcommtheory

I also saw a lot of media about SNAP coverage during the shutdown; it really pushed the issue into public focus. #UTcommtheory

Inside the White House’s new media strategy to promote Trump as ‘KING’ The Trump administration has transformed its traditional press shop into a rapid-response influencer operation, and “they’re all offense, all the time.”

I have noticed a lot of media shaping the public agenda, especially about how the White House uses influencers' videos about immigration. #UTcommtheory www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2...

I have a parasocial relationship with Ellen Pompeo from Grey’s Anatomy. Watching her handle emotional challenges helps me feel grounded and supported in my own life. #UTcommtheory

I agree, Stranger Things is a great example of how media can shape identity and acceptance.

So relatable, and shows what context collapse feels like in real life. The deleting everything and going private is so on point because I really do this sometimes. #UTcommtheory

This meme shows context collapse, when separate audiences merge into one big online space. I normally talk or act differently with each group, but social media blends them together. #UTcommtheory

I agree. AI has made studying easier for me too, especially when it’s for a a big exam covering important information. #UTcommtheory

Ai has negatively affected my learning because of using it brainstorm ideas for certain assignments/projects. This makes it harder to develop my own creativity and critical thinking. #UTcommtheory

I relate to this. It makes sense to adjust your communication so you feel like part of the team, especially when you’re the youngest. It’s nice that you still stayed yourself. #UTcommtheory

As a nanny, I quietly follow the parents rules and communication style, even if I would do things differently. I try to blend in and not draw attention to my own preferences. This shows nonassertive assimilation. #UTcommtheory

I agree with you! The participation approach really does lead to better results since everyone feels included and valued. #UTcommtheory

I respond best to participation approach because it values collaboration. I think we all have an appreciation for being heard and having our opinions valued. #UTcommtheory

I think Amazon’s warehouse needs a culture shift from productivity to people. Encouraging open communication, recognizing teamwork, and valuing well being would create a healthier and sustainable workplace environment. #UTcommtheory

As someone juggling work and college, I’ve learned discipline isn’t natural it’s built. Every early morning and late night adds to credibility as someone who doesn’t give up. This post ethos through personal experience. #UTcommtheory

I can relate to this too. I wait until the last minute for a lot of my work, I think I work better under pressure when it actually just stresses me out. #UTcommtheory

This meme shows cognitive dissonance. I should focus on my assignments, but I shop online instead. I tell myself I'll work better after a "quick" shopping break. #UTcommtheory

Hi, I also agree with this theory. I do the same with my friends and family! #UTcommtheory

Yes, I support it. The closer I am to someone, the more ways we communicate. For example I text, call, FaceTime, and see my sister a lot. But with others I just text. Stronger connections leads to using more media to stay connected. #UTcommtheory
