I told him I’m leaving the city and I couldn’t help him anymore. I told him to stop calling me. I was also scared. There was that gnawing feeling that he might hurt me. Maybe the allegations were true and he could be violent if he didn’t get what he wanted. (He never was)

(which was his home away from home) He started drinking and taking sleeping pills. Last time I saw him, he was stumbling, stank of alcohol and was barely making any sense. He was calling and texting me at all hours of the day. I was about to move out of the city with my boyfriend.
