Orbán turns out to be more of a democrat than the U.S. president and a nontrivial number of GOP candidates.

Years ago, our family started giving away 10% of our income to highly effective charities that help the most preposterously disadvantaged people on the planet earth. I was motivated to do this because moral people already doing this announced themselves.
Before Trump won in 2016, when I thought he’d lose, I told my buddy “if you and nine friends are choosing dinner and six choose pizza and the other four choose ‘kill and eat the other six,’ even though pizza won, you’ve still got a problem.” Then pizza didn’t win.
Oscar! Oscar!
Also that is WAAAAAY too much clapping. Good lord.
Still the same effective altruist I was in 2016. Has it been ten years??? Filing taxes now and it does look like our family has honoured the Giving What We Can pledge by donating 10% of income to groups like AMF, IGN, Seva Canada, Raising the Village, etc. I am proud to be an EA in 2026!

Wow, how did I not know about this? You have made my day.
This guy's about to get frog-poisoned AND blown up in an airplane. Proving once again what an amazing country Russia is to live in.
Tell me more about this "Time Cube"...
Great words from her and Tusk. But somebody needs to defend Ukraine like it's their own. The money and matériel is great, but Ukraine needs soldiers. They've done so well alone. How can we doubt that if even just one more country would put "boots on the ground," Russia would be repelled?
President Zelenskyy:
Ukraine didn’t choose this war& it's wrong to assume that this is a permanent arrangement that others can stay safe behind Ukraine forever.Ukrainians are people, not terminators.
Ok, roger that.
"The American people" do not pay attention to the details on any of this stuff. Not even close. The smallest minority. Kind of what Trump has proved, above all else, no? It's the most depressing part for believers in democracy. Gotta keep trying, no matter what, but also yikes.
What counts as real ID now? No passports for you two? Driver's license? Genuinely curious. I've always had a hard time wrapping my head around the voter ID controversy.
Where did you go get them?
Well shit, this one I think he honestly deserves.
Still confused about Starlink, because he does seem to actively endorse and promote fascism. The system has been absolutely vital to Ukraine's defense, if I'm not misunderstanding. He could have pulled the plug. Putin must apply some pressure there. Why does Musk resist? I scratch my head.
The idea of a bill rendering people deportable for following religious law should make every Jew ill
An incredible turn of events here. 10/10, no notes. 😂
To my mind, 30% is a shockingly high number. Would love to see answers to a follow-up: "Why?" Among a million other things, what is making the US more attractive than Canada at THIS EXACT MOMENT??? Confounding.
Isaac Bashevis Singer being interviewed about the Super Bowl
In 1979, the “New York Times” asked Isaac Bashevis Singer if he planned to watch the Super Bowl.
Trumpcoin down 90%. If you buy your coffee with Trumpcoin, it's now $100/cup.
Are you an US healthcare professional that has had enough of the regime? Are you looking for a safe landing for you, your family and career? British Columbia Canada is actively recruiting doctors and nurses and fast tracking credential recognition. See more here. news.gov.bc.ca/releases/202...
This is good.
Imagine if four years into our war in Iraq we had only occupied 20 percent of it and lost 1.2 million men. Would anyone say the US is winning?
No? Then how in the hell can you say Russia is winning?!
🗃️ On February 3, 2016, President Barack Obama made his first official visit to a U.S. mosque while in office, telling members of the Baltimore-area congregation, “You’re part of America too.”
SC says he can't be sued for "official acts," correct? Surely this can't be construed as an official act and it's the same slander for which Fox was obliged to pay $800M?
