No, you’re so right though. Everything is an advertising gimmick, especially with more places using “sustainable” or “locally sourced” like buzzwords vs actual practices.

I wish we had better systems in place to make art more sustainable. It’s not like alternatives are super accessible, if there are alternative methods to begin with.

Even fursuit stuff has a lot of issues with how the parts are made and later disposed of. Most people have no choice but to pollute in some ways, but I am sure many don’t even think about it.
