Use that kind of chyron or parrot things Reform says? The first no. The second yes.

Oh, I’ve started my stop watch.

Reporting on the Minneapolis ICE shooting, BBC News is soaked to the skin but still not sure if it's raining... In an attempt to maintain balance, the BBC is letting obvious lies go unchallenged.

I wrote about its coverage of the ICE murders back in January open.substack.com/pub/brokenbo...

The BBC has a masochistic streak. Look at how it reports on any BBC scandal.

If I’m going to write about it, I have to at least try to get some comment on it!

Yeah. It’s… not good.

I’ve also broken my rule on not tweeting anymore to ask Henry Zeffman directly what it’s about. We’ll see if I get a reply.

I’ve asked a couple of people I know within BBC News and they were baffled by it.

Ah, you see, you might actually face consequences.

Breakfast - 20/04/2026 The latest news, sport, business and weather from the BBC's Breakfast team.

It’s not fake. I went and watched the segment on iPlayer. 06.20 in today’s episode of BBC Breakfast www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/epis...

Precisely that.

I went and watched the segment on iPlayer. This is absolutely wild. It’s basically doing a free micro political broadcast for Reform during BBC Breakfast.

I did mine. Thankfully I don’t have to this time. Just act as cheerleader.

I’d smoke her a kipper but she’d hate it.

I see you.

Funnily enough, the kid *really* wants an Ace Rimmer t-shirt.

(There is *some* colour coding for breaks and exams but I didn’t go the whole hog and assign a colour to every subject)

Was just making a revision and exam timetable for my step-daughter and the temptation to colour code everything was strong. I resisted. That said, my own timetable way back when was a riot of colour.

Starmer’s performance in the Commons this afternoon is abysmal. He seems to be trying to bore everyone into submission.

Oh, I didn’t notice you were replying to a post where I already said that!

A genius.

Have deleted the original post and put up a correction as you’re right that the way I worded it suggests something untrue.

Cosy ties and £400,000 in political donations: why Labour has a gambling problem Labour talked tough on regulation in its manifesto, but questions have been raised about how it will proceed with legislation if it comes into office

Details on Labour’s general cosiness with the industry here: www.theguardian.com/society/arti...

I think the Culture Secretary means gambling industry donations and patronage bring a lot of joy to the Labour Party and, more specifically, Lisa Nandy herself.
The culture secretary, Lisa Nandy, said in parliament on Thursday that the gambling industry "brings joy to a lot of people". She said: "The industry as a whole brings positive benefits to the United Kingdom."

I’ve deleted a post about a quote from Lisa Nandy on the joy the gambling industry brings because the way I phrased it suggested she personally has benefited from industry donations. Labour in general has however. Screenshot of the original post below for transparency.

You’re right. This on donations to the Labour Party more generally is what I should have pointed to www.theguardian.com/society/arti...

Yes. www.itv.com/news/2025-11...

No. She said the industry brings joy in comments in the House of Commons. Quote does appear in an article about greyhound racing though.

Alright Lisa. Go to any British high street. Stop the first person you meet and ask them if you think it needs more betting shops. Let me know how you get on.

Just a staggering thing to say. People lose their life savings to gambling! Some owners of gambling companies are literal billionaires! The dogs on the street know this.

Betting is like a wealth concentrator. Steal from the poor in the UK, and give to the rich in a tax haven

Calling it an industry is trying to whitewash its existence.
