a split image showcasing a brown and black Dachshund on his hind legs on the left, and a wonky portrait of the same pup on the right. the skillfully drawn portrait illustrates the wavy silhouette of the weiner dog in a very literal interpretation of the photo.

Another split image of a dachshund, this time one with a brindled coat and a silly expression. The photo on the left shows the pup in real life, while the portrait on the right again illustrates the artist's interpretation of the image. Both are quite hilarious.

an action photo of a brown, black and white dog in a lush backyard jumping up to catch a red frisbee in its mouth. on the right, an artist has drawn the same photo with some warped qualities. Both of the dogs eyes are on the same side of its face while it’s legs have been given some curvaceous qualities.

A small white dog with a goofy expression, sits on a blue and purple bed and looks up at the camera with its tongue slightly out. The drawing on the right is of the same dog with honestly a pretty accurate interpretation

Phil Heckles has been drawing other people's pets since 2020, when he drew his own dog and posted it, jokingly offering paid-for commissions. Genuine requests flooded in. He used the traction to raise money for his local homeless charity. 5 years and over £400,000 later, he's still going. 14/10 ❤️

it didn't stick the last time I tried it (a year ago? two?), but it feels a lot better now. the docker container for the server is acting up, though. will have to figure that out. maybe I'll also finally figure out how to backup and port my dotfiles and zsh config

Preview of "Scavengers Reign" Season 2. Unfortunately, this new season has not yet been greenlighted. So the creators of the show (Joe Bennett & Charles Huettner) and Green Street studio produced this concept trailer in-house.

every time one of you nerds makes a lofty statement about not enjoying art that’s “for children” I think of this passage from C.S. Lewis’ An Experiment in Criticism

At an elegant, rustic bar, bartender bunny pours an old-fashioned. Opposite him, seated at the bar, two bunnies have a Bloody Mary with celery and a Banana Daiquiri, respectively. Another bunny, hardly visible, is passed out on the floor.

Russia is a joke: I don't remember seeing the sun even once during the 6 months of winter and now the fucker is rising at 3am, I'm not even halfway done with my homework and procrastination and it already feels like I'm late for something

Wondering what the beef between letters "u" and "n" and the person who designed the Genius lyrics font was for the designer to do them dirty like that.

Or did the designer just want to throw Cyrillic-reading brains for a loop?

There's a lot of talk that AI models are in desperate need of even *more* input nowadays to "improve", and this right here looks like a great way to expand the world's largest licensed image library.

"solely" enabling and improving app/service functionality in no way sounds narrow to me - in today's realities, "improving" might as well be shorthand for "we'll train some models on it only to sell THEM later on". In other words, it'll all be used to line the company's pockets later on

Either ZSH or OMZ decided to act up today, so I've lost my ZSH history of ~1 year.

My computer skills will never recover from this.

Re-watching Altered Carbon S01E03 and "Karate" by Babymetal plays in the background. I knew Babymetal would be timeless.

I can't describe how much better my life's gotten after I used my ad blocker to remove the "average rating" field on Letterboxd film pages. Best think that happened to my cinema education after Letterboxd itself.

The Matt Rife jumpscare in that episode of Brooklyn 99 was weirdly on-point

I never knew you did that, but I'm happy you did. She's a very lovable yet tragic character, I'm glad she's getting the recognition and love she deserves, at least in the recent Harley Quinn series.

Is the voice in your head actually supposed to do this thing where it either wails uncontrollably or emits an unhinged psychotic scream a là Jake Peralta with a guitar?

Asking for a friend.

Who on earth thought rust was a good idea? I only wanted to run a simple game of life in Gleam, and now I'm downloading and building a full rust development toolchain whose compilation also makes my laptop entirely unresponsive.
