I would love it if those of you who do not have library cards will apply for one at your local branch during #NationalLibraryWeek. Then let me know about it. 😇

NASA and Mamdani are proving that Americans are desperate to see their money spent in ways they feel good about.

This, however, is not the same thing as simply spending the money on things we would feel good about but never know happened. People need to be able to see it.

People say 'the work speaks for itself'. Maybe that's true for some things, but it is never true in organizing. You absolutely need to share the work, often and always. There are new people coming of age daily and also most organizing is not visible to most people.

Feels important to uplift Rep Pressley's leadership. She puts in a lot of work on issues that others often don't see as a priority. I've appreciated her anti-criminalization work over the years. She's a worker.

Between the Impossible and the Inevitable: The Case for Defiance (aka Never F**king Surrender) I have been hesitating to hit send on this one, because across the world we are all under the shadow of Trump's threat to commit war crimes that will "eradicate a whole civilization" in Iran while Ira...

"AI Populism" is a term that obscures more than it reveals. Can we just not?

Another great blog post from @davekarpf.bsky.social. I particularly liked the ending, "Silicon Valley ought to be more appreciative of the social stability provided by democracy. The alternatives are so much worse." davekarpf.beehiiv.com/p/ai-populis...

Yeah the wind and cold by the end of the game was a lot!! Def worth it to stay for that ending though (even if the light rail on the way back was really crammed 😆)

A crowd shot of the Mariners game against the Houston Astros same as above, but annotated with a red arrow

A picture of the field at the same Mariners game right after they won against the Astros. The two people closest to the front of the frame are in a red sweatshirt and blue beanie, which aligns with the other photo.

It really did, though sure made for a fun comeback!! I found where I would be, though I’m covered up in your pic 😆 I was directly behind the person the arrow I added is pointing at (second photo I took showing the same two backs of heads right in front of me for cross-reference 😂)

Employers in Washington state now must notify their employees within 5 business days of receiving a federal notice of an I-9 inspection.

Immigrant workers fuel Washington's economy and contribute to our culture and prosperity, and we must work hard to protect their rights.

I have repeatedly been doing this since January with the “Blockbuster Riddim” EP from Tano, which has 5 different lyrics and vocalists over (basically) the same backing track, and each one is EXCELLENT. This is my favorite one of the five currently, but all are phenomenal youtu.be/RYkqQnzjPmM

C'mon propublica, not you too. I just… don't fucken do this, man… Not the people who literally broke the story about how "AI" systems disproportionately harm the already marginalized, reinscribing prejudice into supposedly objective process w/ life & death results. All that shit's still there, y'all

Even if you don't like/follow sports or basketball, you might still get something out of this piece. Basically, this is a case of right-wing media turning someone in the middle of a mental breakdown into a hero before discarding him after he's no longer useful.

Useful The conservative media machine doesn’t want Jaden Ivey to get help. It wants him to keep talking.

New post! The people who actually know Jaden Ivey are worried about him. The people who've never met him want him to keep talking. I wrote about the difference. www.readtpa.com/p/useful

My kids is trans. We face the real possibility they will have to leave the country to live their life with full rights and freedom. I will never stop fighting for them but it would be helpful if I didn’t have to fight so many people allegedly on my side.

So, you know, happy TDOV.

I'm sure you all haven't forgotten that @mayor.nyc.gov broke his promise on funding our public libraries at 0.5% of the city expense budget and has remained mum on this fact. New Yorkers call for him to stick to his promise.
