Mohammed Ali killed one person and injured several others while speeding at 90mph in a 30mph zone.
He’s been jailed for 7 years. Once released, he’ll be able to drive 4.5 years later.
What would you need to do to get a lifetime driving ban?

I received several complaints about cars being driven dangerously across the pavement and cycle path between Salisbury Road and Park Hill using it as a short cut.
Pleased to see following my report the council has now installed bollards.
Need your bike looking at?
The wonderful Cath Palgrave is running a Dr Bike at Moseley Hive (93A Alcester Road) tomorrow, 10am until 1pm. Bring your bike for a check up and minor repairs.
đź‘€ You could also pick up an window poster while you're there. đź‘€

Wishing Sikhs in #Birmingham and beyond and across the world a joyous and happy Vaisakhi!
In Birmingham it’s the Bike Project based in Balsall Heath and they are awesome!

Talked to someone today who said he didn't want to pay taxes because illegal immigrants get free bikes. That was so odd that I liked it up and damn there are charities that fix up old bikes and give them to asylum applicants so they can get around the place while on a waiting list. That so great
I voted for Brexit. Now I face a red tape nightmare to retire in Spain. The I Paper, 12 April.
Brexit stripped Britons of the ability to easily work, live, study, or retire abroad, yet it was sold as a way to “take back control” and restore our freedom. But so far, all we’ve seen is a loss of it...
At the last Moseley Forum meeting I provided some stats on parking enforcement in Moseley Ward.
We’ve now obtained more info from the BCC Annual Parking Report which is highlighted on our website. The amount of patrols & enforcement outside schools is very poor.

Lovely afternoon litter picking with my grandson and the Hazrat Mujaddid Alf-e-Sani Trust Masjid & Education Centre.
23 bags collected from nearby roads, the Carlton Memorial garden and Balsall Heath park.
The Masjid are looking to organise monthly litter picks , get in touch if you can help.
If we possess the tools to save lives and refuse to use them, we have ... simply normalised a level of carnage that should be unthinkable. Until we stop treating road deaths as an unavoidable byproduct of travel, nothing will change.

Extra bike 🚲 racks have been installed in Moseley Village next to Boo Burger, on a piece of land I had to stop the council from selling off!
I think this is a much better use than the inevitable car park it would have become.
Obviously it is not sunny and windy every day but solar is currently providing 42% of UK electricity generation. Solar! In Britain!

One for Cllr Majid Mahmood and his colleagues at @bhamcitycouncil.bsky.social to note.
Getting used to the new Lime bikes and scooters? 🍋‍🟩🚲🛴
đź’° Save money with the LimePrime pass in the app - ÂŁ3.99 a month for ÂŁ1 flat fees with rides between 5 and 20 minutes (15p per min after).
Or get a minute bundle, costing as little as 6p per minute (300-min bundle).
I will try to find out
Which design was it? There is more than one? Can you send me a photo?
“In London cyclists now outnumber cars in the City by 2 to 1. Paris, where they now outnumber motorists across the whole city, is catching up with Europe’s traditional bike capitals, Amsterdam & Copenhagen…In Copenhagen, bikes account for almost half of commuter trips to work/school.” @economist.com
Took my grandson on a 4 min trip between Moseley Village & Kings Heath because I could!
Meeting my fellow Cllr from the first passenger train to stop in Moseley Village since 1941! 🤩
I signed a petition to help save the Friends Institute in Birmingham. It’s been an amazing community hub since 1897, but the council is planning to close it down. We need to protect this space for the local groups that rely on it. Please add your name! you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/sa...
Screenshot of a post by Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump): “Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!! Open the Fuckin’ Strait, you crazy bastards, or you’ll be living in Hell - JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah. President DONALD J. TRUMP”
Threatening war crimes and mocking Islam isn't a sign of strength, it's a sign of weakness.
The PM should rule out UK forces and airfields being used for any attacks on Iranian civilian infrastructure.
What more will it take for Starmer to call off the Royal Visit Trump craves?
Wishing a very Happy Easter to everyone celebrating in #Birmingham and beyond today.

Everyone running for Council in Birmingham's upcoming elections has an opportunity to show they care about this crisis in our city by joining the next Circle the City ride and calling for more equitable infrastructure, departing May 1st at 6PM from Hippodrome Square.
We hope the young victim is able to make a full and speedy recovery. Yesterday was day 609 of Birmingham's declared road safety emergency.
Did you know that these catkins are the flowers of a willow tree.? You can find out more at the tree walk on April 25th
A message for Majid Mahmood and @bhamcitycouncil.bsky.social ...
'Leadership doesn’t make excuses. It takes action.'
Large banner as tall as a person with a classic black glass, yellow cap Marmite jar on it with the brand replaced with the words "REJECT HATE" with "100% ANTIFASCIST" underneath and around the lower edge "SPREAD LOVE NOT FEAR"
Lovely photos of the #Together unity march, thanks for sharing
This protest sign is completely brilliant, I hadn't seen it
