Let that sink in for a minute. It might be the most clear example of both Musk and Trump’s incompetence. There is nothing that compares: firing everyone in charge of nuclear weapons and then realizing, “wait a minute, what agency is this again?”

I wonder if auto production dropped 5% because of frigid weather as well? I can’t think of anything else that might be slowing production or impacting consumer confidence.

I’m inclined to agree with those that say X is working as intended. Whether musk envisioned the financial wreckage that would result is another question. Perhaps he thought it would be considerably more profitable. But he knows nothing about government, and the endgame here is much different.

As the federal government crumbles around us, I ask myself again, what is the endgame for these maniacs? Even the theory of enrichment at the expense of everyone else doesn’t hold water. So I guess it must be destruction; simple, pure chaos-driven destruction.

Nothing like pulling statistics out of your arse. How can 90% of people approve of something that hasn’t been disclosed?

Child (who is still learning): kindness

Adult (who should know better): hate

That’s one reason. I believe a number of states also have exemptions on religious grounds. There could also be lax enforcement, particularly in communities that are vaccination wary.

Measles has never been completely eradicated in part because it’s high herd immunity requirements (94-95/100). The less people there are immunized the more likely an outbreak will spread. When you get closer to that number, outbreaks are small and stop quickly. But it’s never fully gone away.

I think there’s some distinction between Nietzsche’s concept and how it was corrupted by the N@zis. I think Musk would think himself more aligned with the later.

Because it’s not Christianity. It is the trappings of a civic philosophy that is directly opposed to Christ’s teachings.

This is an interesting theory. However, I’m not sure if it’s supported by history. While I will concede that the world as a whole is more free than it was a century ago, I see no clear reason to believe that the pendulum won’t swing back. Russia, Hungary, Turkey, Venezuela, etc etc.

Would you rather have a surgeon with 20 years of experience and excellent outcomes operate or someone just out of medical school with an untreated alcohol problem who shares your political beliefs. #expertise

Notice it reads “support for war” not “fighting in a war.” Oh yeahhh indeed.

Agreed. An essential part of Christian Nationalism is the illusion of being oppressed. Black and brown people in this country have no such illusions; it is reality.

JD Vance attacks UK and EU over ‘retreat of free speech’ - The Times of London

The conservative idea of free speech is ‘a bit different’ from the definition in the real world.

Not to mention the fact that this administration has committed yet another unforced error with long term allies.

How about instead of cutting all these essential programs unconstitutionally we just tax Elon Musk 20% of his increase in net net worth in 2024. There’s $40 billion right there.

How many veterans, and disabled veterans in particular, will have to lose their jobs with the federal government before at least one Republican expresses concern publicly?

The premise that government is inherently evil and corrupt will lead to terrible consequences for most Americans including, but not limited to: unsafe food, undrinkable water, unsafe work conditions, lack of appropriate and affordable medical care, and increases in preventable diseases. #Trump?

Conservatives can never blame themselves when something goes wrong without making sure they point out that liberals have done something just as bad or worse. George Will’s most recent column in the Washington Post is another excellent example.

This will create another clearly measurable metric between blue and red states, particularly if the federal government begins to act against vaccines.

Trump supporters wanted to feel a certain way. I am certain they still feel that way. What is uncertain is what needs to happen to the country for them to feel differently. Think Gulf of America versus losing Medicaid.
