I can't say I agree with mint chocolate chip, but I might just have to try putting a scoop of ice cream on my pancakes. Take Sunday brunch to a whole new level.

From local to federal, I have yet to see a public service improved by privatization.
I firmly believe the overall quality of a Matt & Ben film is directly related to how frequently they drop F-Bombs.
This isn’t an argument for one side or the other. I do not have any solutions. I’m simply acknowledging that the conflict exists.
This may be the natural progression towards automation that many professions have experienced. Development as a career might simply be a blip on the radar, much like the typesetters of yore.
I understand the pressure to keep up or get left behind. But I have this pit-of-my-stomach feeling that when folks boast about not writing any code for months, or orchestrating agents to do the work of junior developers, we’re enthusiastically giving up something that will be impossible regain.
Commercial artists, being oh so familiar with exploitation, theft, and low wages from the business side, tend to vehemently oppose the technology.
While developers, who’ve enjoyed decades of increasing importance and wage growth in the business sector, appear to be embracing AI with open arms.
It’s a strange feeling to have your feet planted in two worlds who are on the opposite ends of the AI spectrum—art and development.
It's been a minute since I've found a band this frenetic and weird. For fans of The Locusts...
Enjoy Squid Pisser:

By Crom, you might be right.
Would you expect anything less from your boss if they'd spent years calling you "Little Marco" and making fun of how you drink water.
Fun Fact: Words On Shirts are the most popular designs on my Threadless shop: goodtimeseod.threadless.com/collections/...
I can see why, they're fresh as hell.
New music for my old dudes... Just discovered Flatwounds, and damn they're doing solid grunge/alt-hard rock. I look forward to seeing where they go.

Minecraft is a whole level of parental Hell unto itself.
I cannot count the number of hours I've lost figuring out login issues. This is compounded by playing on non-Microsoft devices that have their own login and permission layers on top of it all.
Best five gigs attended, pass it on:
- Mr. Bungle
- Slipknot
- Ministry
- Author & Punisher
- Child Bite
HAH! I always think scratch code because my kid complains every time he has to mess with it in school.
Or maybe we’re just being punny 😉
Are you talking about the visual coding platform they teach kids coding principles on nowadays?
Dusting off a piece that you abandoned 20+ years ago to clear up mental space is so relatable.
I fully acknowledge that this would be a real nightmare on a larger team where each step (copy+layout+code) was handled by a different person.
But 20 years of experience has to amount to something and I suppose this is it.
I don't always work this way, but when deadlines are tight and you're understaffed, you just have to get the shit done and make sure it'll work right for the next couple years.
Which is really a puffed up way of saying that sometimes I start designing in code when I have a vague notion of what the solution could be. Then circle around and around the problem until what I've put together finally makes sense.
One of the fun challenges of being a solo web designer + front end dev is that I have the opportunity to work out complex communication challenges through rapid iteration.
Gross.
Once again, tech companies are bringing the cringier aspects of William Gibson's Sprawl series to life.
I'd much rather have music recommendation engines based on "a person in this band was also in that other band you like" and "these folk opened for that band once" than whatever fuckery goes into current music app algorithms.
Fun Fact that I just learned (because I also love wikipedia deep dives on trivial topics): Their guitarist/keyboardist Greg Kurstin is the bee in @thebirdandthebee.bsky.social. I didn't know this back when I was listening to B&B 15+ years ago, but I can totally see the through line now.
Geggy Tah popped on during my drive into work this morning. Their music is delightful, weird and poppy for its time. I've loved it ever since middle school and you should enjoy it too.
