And here’s me set up in a breakout room for my workshops at the conference yesterday, with a view of Bournemouth FC pitch. What a way to kick start the half term!
Absolute pleasure and privilege to meet gold medal winning Paralympian Aaron Phipps at the Wellbeing Teaching Conference in Bournemouth yesterday. Thanks to all at St Ives Primary in Ringwood for inviting me to speak.

…and another idea I spotted this week at Regent Farm First School. Great for enriching the story, counting, and art. Early Years learning is most effective if it’s fun. I’m delighted to be invited back in the spring for more #storytelling with Reception.
“It starts with a story…” I had another lovely #storytelling visit to Regent Farm First School this week. Just look at their great displays and environments for Nursery to develop ideas. #creativecurriculum #readingforpleasure
Back in Sydenham to visit Y6 at Sydenham High Prep School tomorrow. Writing workshops, WW1 poetry and stories…and probably some drama work too! Great to be back on tour this term. #creativecurriculum #literacy #readingforpleasure
Just some of the results of a great #editing exercise as part of my author visit to Whittington Primary last week. The children were invited to add their own ideas to some pages of my own Work-in-Progress.
A virtual certificate with text "Celebrating 10M users on Bluesky, #6,173,716, Chris Connaughton @intextchris.bsky.social, joined on Aug 16, 2024"
Bluesky now has over 10 million users, and I was #6,173,716!
Some starting points for a great day of editing workshops at Whittington Primary School in Lichfield today. KS2 had some great ideas for improving their writing. #writing #literacy #readingforpleasure
‘A curriculum should not only equip students with knowledge but also use this to nurture their ability to thrive as individuals in society’ - a great piece by @steverollett.bsky.social, rich in hope and aspiration.

Always worthwhile to hear an actor’s view/critique of the plays. After all, they have studied and worked with the text in the way Shakespeare intended…to perform it!
Glad to find @jonnybid.bsky.social on here. His book recommendations and reviews are always worthwhile to encourage reading for pleasure and build a positive reading culture in school.
I have lots of free resources for staff and personal wellbeing to download on my website, have a look!

This is a collection of front covers of books The rock in my throat, how I learned geography, the boy at the back of my classes, wishes, lost and found a cat, which way is home, azzi in between, my name is , I’m Australian too.
Book covers including The suitcase, boy everywhere, friend and foe, the island, the journey. When the sun falls, the day that war came, letters from the lighthouse, Peter in peril, Bruno and Frida, hidden
I’m always interested in how telling or listening to stories can help us understand the experiences of others. These are some books that might be helpful from #earlyyears, to #primary, to #secondary about the experiences of those that have been displaced because of war and conflict. #EduSky
