Oh, I remember this! That's an interesting way to deal with it, it can't have been an easy solution to implement, either!

If you'd like to learn how to do anims through sprite sheets in gamemaker, this is a really good tutorial I found when first learning: youtu.be/_lmezTscLHo?...
That's my dream, too! One of the reasons I've been trying to learn game dev is because I'd like to make something like that one day. And even if I never get there, it's been great to learn something new.
You don't need the IP to make your own dreams! I'm rooting for you!
wrote about Dosa Divas, a game i'm really enjoying, which is yes a diaspora story but also a story about the commodification of food and culture aftermath.site/dosa-divas-o...

The Gatekeeper is one formidable foe in our v1.2 update, which increased the challenge of endgame bosses! โ๏ธ #gamedev

Oooh, i like the way it telegraphs its attacks, very simple and clear
hot take but people complaining about pokedex cuts are not going to be playing with every single pokemon and general audience benefits from a limited selection, if the intent of the game is a new adventure
Came here to suggest this, really good little puzzle combat game with some great combos that can really break the game
It has been noticed that I played Tactical Breach Wizards, and so demands were made for Tactical Beach Wizard.
Oh neat, tying it to the player is super smart! *writes that down*
My worst nightmare
Remember, ape together strong. Be brave.
I love drawing pixel art rocks #pixelart
i see so many little tiny game projects nowadays that look really cool but then have an AI disclaimer that's like "well i only used it for icons" or something
you don't have to do that. here.

4000 free icons for your game. they all look fucking fantastic. don't use ai.
(DS1 spoiler) Remembering in Death Stranding when a weird guy comes up to you like "I have a SPECIAL DELIVERY for Fragile, hehehee, don't ruin the EXPLOSIVE SURPRISE" and I went into the menu to see the description used to disguise it but the game just goes "Hey, this is a nuke. Don't drop it.ย :) "
Being a sequel helps, but also I think that Supergiants have a reputation now for what they make, so you already know before you buy if you're going to like it or not, so kudos to them for being able to develop that reputation.
Recently got one of the fancy, late game achievements in Hades 2, and it's impressive how many other players also have it. With most Steam games half of the players haven't passed early parts and only ~1.2% have hard ones, so it shows the people buying Hades are very motivated to play/finish.
Sometimes, the reality of gamedev is starting the day thinking ''I'm going to make a cool feature'' but it turns into ''Why is this puddle running away from me.

Same, it looks great and I'd love to play it, but I can't afford a new console for the foreseeable future. Besides, I need to work on my Steam backlog >.>
A boxer meme with the text "ok ima fight Unrivalled Scylla - damn Unrivalled Scylla got tentacles"
This is both inspiring and intimidating, it makes me realise I need to stop stressing about making things perfect and just Make Things, but also I can't imagine coming up with something as cool as this??
XKCD comic 1172, "workflow". A made-up picture of a software update that fixes rapid cpu heating with someone complaining that the fix breaks their workflow
Reminds me of an XKCD strip:
Fast, to the point, gets straight into the action. Perfect.
"Ferrule cats". Is this anything?
Finally 100%'ed Satisfactory! Got to be a bit of a grind for the last achievement, but it was a fun journey getting there.
Getting to the point of being able to drop something in the world and have it Just Work is pretty magical, to me, even when it's something as simple as a button to open a specific door ^_^
Enemy footstep and sounds could work, too. I know in other games I'll hear noises and go 'ah, I can hear one of those tough bastards nearby, I need to be prepared'
I've been following a few tutorials just to wrap my head around GameMaker, then I'm looking at trying to do some basic clones of other games just for practice. I got big ideas too, and the more I learn the more I know how far I've got to go!
Indie game marketing is rough. You look at all the advice and it's "Basically you want to become a spammer. Inconvenience small streamers as much as as you can. Be a downtick in the quality of life of hundreds. This has 8% odds of upping your wishlists"
