A french topographic map showing the position of a farm called L'Oeuvre in the parish of Cadalen, in South-France. The farm is placed on a edge at the upper end of a minor road. The name came probably from a similar norwegian one which is the adjective øvre, that once upon the time been francised. The norwegian name gives a quite precise ethymology of the french name as the farm do not at the highest point of of the edge but somewhat in the middle. higher enough above the valley to deserve its name.
Almost the same as the other picture with the only difference that the background is an aerial view from Google Earth.
South in the french civil parish of #Cadalen (81), A farm named #L'Oeuvre staying on a edge, high enough above the valley to deserve the original name #øvre. The french syllab oeu were used to replace the scandinavian letter ø. #Cadalen probably means #The_Valley_of_Horse.
