Sliding in just under the wire here’s the Old 97’s - a band very much a distillation of their influences from old country to surf to power pop. Satellite Rides and the bonus track Singular Girl is probably their most power pop.

Here's one from two years ago, "Trick Myself" by Lolas. I couldn't get enough of it in 2023, and still love it. To me it's a perfect little bit of candy-coated #powerpop that hits all the right notes. I hope you enjoy it.

I might be pushing the definition of Power Pop with this choice. Shack are a Liverpool band that had huge critical acclaim but very low sales. They are doing 7 holiday dates in the UK starting tonight in London. Will see 3 of them..
