I feel sure there was some sort of “______ a Go Go” movie in there somewhere. But maybe I just watched it as part of #61MoviesOfHalloween? I will need to consult my database.
I am spending the evening watching some of the movies that didn’t make it into #61MoviesOfHalloween and eating my body weight in carbohydrates. First up, Doctor Blood’s Coffin. I am already suspicious of Peter, the newly arrived doctor’s son and biochemist.
And I have wrapped up with Space Monster Wangmagwi, billed as the “long lost Korean kaiju movie” so ICONIC, right? Except I kind of maybe understand why it was lost for so long now? Oh well, never a total loss to end on a kaiju moment! #Movie61 #61MoviesOfHalloween
Yesterday! #Movie60 was Don’t Log Off, one of those movies made during the pandemic where all the actions is on video meeting software and chats. It wasn’t bad. Nothing will ever beat Host for me though. #61MoviesOfHalloween
No, but seriously, I know Colin Ferguson from the shows Eureka and Haven, both of which I loved, so that episode choice was easy. #61MoviesOfHalloween @republicandalek.bsky.social
Anyhoo, I ran across a horror anthology show from the late aughts called Fear Itself and thought "I have a vague recollection of that show" so tonight's #Movie59 is the third episode "Family Man". Starring the Maytag Man! #61MoviesOfHalloween @republicandalek.bsky.social
It doesn't qualify for #61MoviesOfHalloween because <redacted>, but I watched the new Netflix movie A House of Dynamite today, or as I like to call it, Fail-Safe for the 21st century.
Anyway, #Movie58 is Night Tide, with Dennis Hopper, famously known for his oeuvre of iconic horror films.
Today, I'm staying with the horror icons and historical horror that I weirdly haven't seen before theme with #Movie57 - Vincent Price in Cry of the Banshee! #61MoviesOfHalloween

The other movie I took out from the library for #61MoviesOfHalloween is the only horror movie to win the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance, so I managed quite the contrast feat in one library visit. @republicandalek.bsky.social
I’m watching Interviewing Monsters (and Bigfoot) which pairs well with… I dunno, think of the stupidest food you’ve ever eaten. #Movie56 #61MoviesOfHalloween
This feels like two movies - one with Cushing and the prehistoric skeleton, and a second with Lee and the escaped mental patient. Linked by the weird anti-evil serum that Cushing bizarrely tests on his own daughter and the creepy spider blood cells. #61MoviesOfHalloween @republicandalek.bsky.social
Shockingly, I have now caught up, with #Movie55 being The Creeping Flesh. Which, again, I have somehow managed to not have seen! #61MoviesOfHalloween
Oh, and The Long Hair of Death was exactly the movie you'd expect with a title like that. #61MoviesOfHalloween @republicandalek.bsky.social
The Long Hair of Death was #Movie52 and Jack-O #Movie53 - not counting Clown in a Cornfield since I came near the end. I'll probably go back and watch the beginning of #TheLastDriveIn show later tonight or maybe tomorrow and count it then. #61MoviesOfHalloween @republicandalek.bsky.social
Having at last recovered from my online and IRL adventures of yesterday, it's time to fill in another gap in my horror education with Wolfen! Albert Finney in a creature feature! #Movie54 #61MoviesOfHalloween
Hey, that was my first movie! There’s Something in the Barn! #TheLastDriveIn #61MoviesOfHalloween
So, I’m currently out of town (ran away for a leaf-peeping daycation to Ossining) so I’m probably not going to make it back for the start of Joe Bob. Hopefully he’ll start with a movie I’ve already seen! #TheLastDriveIn #61MoviesOfHalloween
Jesus, there’s a lot of raping and misogyny in this movie. What a way to start a day! #61MoviesOfHalloween @republicandalek.bsky.social
Screenshot of one of the title cards of The Long Hair of Death, that reads “Produced by F. Testa Gay for Cinegay s.p.A”.
Wait, what? Does that “F.” mean that one of the producers was a priest?? Oh, I’m gonna need a Bloody Mary. #61MoviesOfHalloween
Speaking of bona fides (which I’ve always pronounced as “bone-ah f-eye-ds” but maybe is supposed to be “bone-ah f-eye-dees”?), I am awake way earlier than I would like so I’m watching The Long Hair of Death with Barbara Steele! #Movie53 #61MoviesOfHalloween
Rounding out the evening with an episode from Season 2 of Two Sentence Horror Stories: Elliot. #Movie52 #61MoviesOfHalloween
Time for a little sci-fi - #Movie51 is War of the Satellites. Mostly lots of ominous warnings and strange goings-on with a very jarring goofball scene of two "teenagers" getting frisky in a parked car. The 1950s were fun. #61MoviesOfHalloween @republicandalek.bsky.social
And I'm filling in some gaps in my horror education with Die, Monster, Die! #Movie50 Also taking advantage of the shortness of the older movies because I am egregiously behind and time's a-tickin'. #61MoviesOfHalloween
Tonight on #61MoviesOfHalloween: Doctor X, a strange little movie about a full moon mad scientist who becomes a cannibal killer! Sure, we've seen it before but have we seen the killer bizarrely bursting into flames after falling out a window? I think not! #Movie49 @republicandalek.bsky.social
House of 1000 Dolls genuinely felt like someone made a 45 minute giallo, and then made a 45 minute film with Vincent Price and stitched them together. I question whether Price saw the finished film and went “wait, what??” #61MoviesOfHalloween
<the Committee makes a note for next year’s Rules Meeting> #61MoviesOfHalloween
Next, and last for today, Bride of the Monster (in color!) with Bela Lugosi. And somehow I don't remember ever watching this one either. If this keeps up, they're gonna take away my horror fan card. #Movie48 #61MoviesOfHalloween @republicandalek.bsky.social
There was a This is Your Life episode with Boris Karloff attached to The Terror, so I've decided to continue the theme with more iconic horror actors. First, House of 1000 Dolls with Vincent Price, a movie that somehow I have never seen. #Movie47 #61MoviesOfHalloween @republicandalek.bsky.social
Shot. Chaser. #61MoviesOfHalloween
But now for something completely different! Pet Semetary: Bloodlines. Based on the untold chapter. Just when they think they’ve gotten out of Ludlow, Ludlow PULLS THEM BACK IN. #Movie46 #61MoviesOfHalloween @republicandalek.bsky.social
