INT. UPSCALE RESTAURANT - NIGHT Delicate fingers fidget with a gold wedding ring. The fingers belong to ELLIE FISCHER (40s), who sits alone at a corner table in the busy restaurant. She's overdressed for a Tuesday in a tight, revealing dress. She knows people are staring, but she doesn't care. Finally, a cautious smile spreads on Ellie's face as the Host guides RORY (20s) toward her. Even though Rory looks the part in his fresh haircut and expensive suit, he doesn't move with the confidence to belong in this world. All the same, Ellie stands with open arms when he arrives. ELLIE Eric! I was getting worried. Rory kisses her on the cheek before they both sit. RORY Sorry I'm late-- ELLIE Don't be sorry. I ordered you a drink. It's your favorite, that one from your trip to Italy! She hands him a glass of red and they both sip in silence. Rory's eyes look past Ellie to the surrounding tables. Everyone stares at him. The COUPLE nearby whispers... His eyes dart back to Ellie, then to her body. RORY Wow. You look... great. So, uh, what kind stuff do you like to do for fun? ELLIE You don't need to do that. Finish your drink, and we can get out of here. Rory flashes a wicked grin, then downs his wine. INT. BEDROOM - NIGHT Ellie slams into the padded headboard as Rory runs his hands and mouth over her breasts.

EXT. WILLIAMS' DRIVEWAY - FRIDAY MID-MORNING MARSHALL WILLIAMS, 5, Black, rolls up to the side door of a MINIVAN in his WHEELCHAIR. His mother, JENNIFER WILLIAMS, 35, follows soon after, shoving items into her tote bag JENNIFER Ok, Marshall, cellphone, housekeys,… MARSHALL Snacks? JENNIFER Yes, Marshall, I have snacks for later. For me, what are you gonna eat? MARSHALL Mom! As Jennifer laughs, she gets the car door open for Marshall. TYRELL WILLIAMS hustles over from locking the front door. TYRELL We all good? We are out for an adventure today! Marshall grimaces. MARSHALL I wish this was an adventure but this is the doctor. Doctors are not an adventure. JENNIFER But this is the big day! You're getting fitted for your new mobility aids! Marshall is unimpressed as she picks him up and places him into a seat. Tyrell folds up the wheelchair and tucks it into the back. TYRELL New gear isn't an adventure? You're too young to be so cynical. MARSHALL No I'm not, I'm 5. That's almost 10! What's cynical?
