When you work with backdrops one of the things you have to take into account is the direction of the light on the background. Of course you can always play around with extra lights 🙂

You can ofcourse shoot the model with a large softbox from the front, or..... Place it above and slightly behind the model and bounce gelled strobes via a mirror for some cool effects.
