Stayed up too later, but I somewhat managed to make procedural roads and house placements. Unfortunately the calculation is expensive because of the Cuboid pattern which is used to avoid overlaying over houses and roads. I'll try to optimize tomorrow.. 🫠

No update yesterday due to life stuff, but today I made some big progress on a new plains biome which will probably be the second to last biome in the birch saga. Now to add a procedural village to spawn here, it shouldn't be that hard, right?😅

For today's worldgen progress, I've decided to come back to my river biome.
I've added leaning weeping trees that spawn properly oriented to the river. I did this using the Orienter Prop and an offset water source pattern. Also added some bushes😁

Spent the rest of my free time today optimizing/organizing/compacting the node tree. I noticed that the chunk loading was chugging after some time of development, so it had to be done sooner or later.
Looks nice now though :)

The original Hytale birch texture didn't have stripes, so I added them myself, also created stumps, t-junctions and custom leaves. Custom trees too, both normal and weeping variants.

GamePro 'Der 15-jährige Modder iamcxv7 hat das Unmögliche wahr gemacht: Eigentlich sind es zwei unterschiedliche Spiele: Hytale und Minecraft. Dank „Packet Trickery“, wie der Modder es nennt, verstehen sie sich jetzt blendend. iamcxv7 lässt quasi einen Minecraft-Server innerhalb der Hytale-Umgebung laufen und nutzt dabei aus, dass beide Welten im Grunde auf demselben Gitternetz aufgebaut sind. Dann werden ständig Snapshots der Spieler-Positionen hin- und hergeschickt. Dadurch kann man zusammen zocken, egal welches Spiel man gerade gestartet hat. Spieler*innen beider Games können sich gegenseitig sehen (im jeweiligen Grafikstil des Spiels), chatten, bauen und sogar gegeneinander kämpfen.
