I've seen my share of yūshō parades - this is the first bare chested one I remember 🤗 - but since they spend most of their time like that, it tracks hrx #harubasho2026
Day15
Nabatame smiley and bespectacled in his sandanme yūshō interview - it’s his first yūshō in any division #harubasho2026
Day15 Kirishima 3rd yūshō interview
There will be meeting of judges to consider re-promotion to ōzeki. Kiri says his family is here today, and today is his mother’s birthday 🤗. It was mentioned he turns 30 next month so should have lots of sumo ahead of him #harubasho2026
Day14
Was going to share ystrdy but didn’t want SPOILER complaints. Kiri obviously had mixed emotions about winning yūshō in spite of losing himself, but tested up and said his daughter has been saying she wants to yell “banzai!” again, so he’s glad he won for her #harubasho2026
Day15
Yz Hōshōryū 10-4 (L)
Oz Aonishiki 7-7 (R)
Quick but good! Rope run is long over, and now Aonishiki can at least avoid his first ever MK, and also of course avoid kadoban next basho in only his second basho at this rank. Hoss has yet to beat Ao in 4 tries #harubasho2026
I don't think I've ever seen a more deflated, flaccid ending to a tournament than this Haru Basho. Onosato drops out, Aonishiki completely collapses, Hoshoryu falls apart as usual, and the winter of the tournament loses the last two days but gets the yusho anyway. Horrid. #sumo #harubasho2026
Day15
Sw Kirishima 12-2 (L)
Oz Kotozakura 9-5 (R)
Kiri got the yūshō without a win yesterday. A convincing win vs Zakura would be a good way to go out, and I’m sure the bigwigs are watching if they are seriously considering promoting him to ōzeki again #harubasho2026
Day15
Km Atamifuji 9-5 (L)
Sw Takayasu 6-8 (R)
With a win here, Yasu just might be able to stay at sekiwake #harubasho2026
Day15
Ritual to mark the last 3 bouts of the basho, which are called "sanyaku soroibumi". First east competing rikishi, then west #harubasho2026
Day15
Km Wakamotoharu 3-11 (L)
M7 Ōshōma 5-9 (R)
Motoharu shows some real fight his last chance this basho! #harubasho2026
Day15
M12 Asanoyama 8-6 (L)
M1 Yoshinofuji 6-8 (R)
Good un! Especially since we don’t have a yūshō bout to watch for today. Yoshi already has his first ever MK, but won’t go down much or at all with a win here #harubasho2026
Day15
M2 Fujinokawa 7-7 (L)
M3 Ōhō 7-7 (R)
Scrappy AND good in a pinch! Another KK make or break battle, Fujinokawa gets Technique Prize with a win #harubasho2026
Day15
M3 Hiradoumi 6-8 (L)
M2 Churanoumi 4-10 (R)
Quick one. Watch gyōji’s fan, close cuz there is no mono’ii #harubasho2026
Day15
M4 Daieishō 7-7 (L)
M8 Shōdai 7-7 (R)
KK make or break bout for both! These two have faced off a lot over the years; Daieishō has a 24-10 matchup lead #harubasho2026
Day15 mono’ii
M10 Gōnoyama 9-5 (L)
M4 Takanoshō 9-5 (R)
Mono’ii determines Takanoshō touched out before Gōnoyama did, gyōji decision reversed - Gōnoyama win #harubasho2026
Day15
M10 Gōnoyama 9-5 (L)
M4 Takanoshō 9-5 (R)
Winner of matchup finishes with double digit wins. There is a mono’ii, see reply #harubasho2026
Day15
M12 Asakoryū 9-5 (L)
M5 Kotoshōhō 10-4 (R)
Kotoshōhō gets the Fighting Spirit prize if he wins this one… #harubasho2026
Day15
M16 Asahakuryū 10-4 (L)
M7 Hakunofuji 4-6-4 (R)
Hakunofuji did manage to squeeze out a number of wins after coming back from kyūjō (it’s often an exercise in futility to do so, good on him) #harubasho2026
Day15
M8 Ura 5-9 (L)
M14 Chiyoshōma 9-5 (R)
Ura can get over focused on going for the legs and pulling off some pink magic #harubasho2026
Day15
M9 Tokihayate 5-9 (L)
M17 Fujiryōga 6-8 (R)
Nice move at the edge #harubasho2026
Day15
M17 Kotoeihō 9-5 (L)
M9 Tamawashi 4-10 (R)
See? Nothing to worry about 🤗 #harubasho2026
Day15
M11 Shishi 6-8 (L)
M13 Fujiseiun 9-5 (R)
(Former!) jūryō personal fave Fujseiun can get double digit wins and the Fighting Spirit Prize with a win here #harubasho2026
Day15
M13 Tobizaru 6-8 (L)
M11 Ōshōumi 4-10 (R)
Both men are already MK and in risk of relegation to jūryō. #harubasho2026
Day15 jūryō yūshō
J3 Wakanoshō (L)
J10 Dewanoryū (R)
And the last playoff. Winner takes jūryō yūshō. These two faced off Day11, Dewanoryū won that one. This would be Wakanoshō’s 2nd jūryō yūshō #harubasho2026
Day15 sandanme playoff
Sd3 Nabatame (L)
Sd21 Hōgashō (R)
Futagoyama-beya channel star Nabatame and Hōgashō are both undefeated so we have a playoff for winner of sandanme yūshō #harubasho2026
Day15 Jonidan playoff!
Jd8 Asahifuji (L)
Jd100 Kiryūkō (R)
Both men were undefeated so a playoff determines yūshō. Asahifuji has taken the namesake of former head of Isegahgama-beya (and former yokozuna Asahifuji #harubasho2026
Day15 jonokuchi playoff
3 men have the same record, so they keep facing off until one man wins twice in a row. The first draw is:
Jk12 Kojikara (L)
Jk12 Aron (R)
Both have sumo experience but dropped to jonokuchi due to injury leaves #harubasho2026
And thank you for posting clips and comments of #harubasho2026 🙏🏻
Day15 jūryō
J1 Ryūden 8-6 (L)
J11 Kazuma 10-4 (R)
Last bout of regular jūryō - if Kazuma can win we get a 3-man playoff for jūryō yūshō. If he loses it’s Wakanoshō vs Dewanoryū #harubasho2026
Day15
Thanks for your support final day message from Hakkaku and the boys. Pachi Pachi #harubasho2026
