I've seen it 3 times and I cannot wait to get my hands on a physical copy (which he's doing!) so I can pause and really get in there and dissect this beast. As a horror fan who has been super disillusioned to the genre for a while now, this movie has re-ignited that passion. There hasn't been a really good cosmic/eldritch horror movie in a while imo, so I'm hoping (along with inspiring indie filmmakers for generations to come) that we'll see more cosmic/eldritch horror movies in the coming years. If you like psychological/cosmic/eldritch horror that gives you just enough to get the gears in your brain turning, with very intentional pacing that delivers 1000%, extreme attention to detail and symbology, with gorgeous cinematography and sound design....you NEED to see Iron Lung! There's a reason it was #1 from Thursday until the very last 2 hours on Sunday and then captured #1 AGAIN on Monday!! I don't know where it's at right now but it doesn't matter. The fact that it got to #1 as a self-financed, self-distributed indie film at all is incredible but TWICE?? Send Help may have finished the race for premiere weekend but I think we all know who the REAL winner is here. 😏 This movie goes SO MUCH HARDER the second watch too! I loved it the first time but everything felt even better the second time. There were so many things that I had missed or didn't understand the first time that have clicked into place now. Esp If you have auditory processing disorder like me, def go see it again! Iron Lung is a movie MEANT to be rewatched. This movie has so much passion and it shows. It's not gonna be for everyone and that's ok. Movies shouldn't be made with the intention of appealing to as wide of an audience as possible. This movie is horror ART imo. It is beautifully imperfect in all the best ways. Iron Lung is a movie that gives you something to REALLY chew on and think about and I appreciate that in a world that feels like it's overflowing with brain-idling, junk food media.
