Four stellar guests are featured on the album—"Make It to Heaven” has David Simonich of Signs of the Swarm; Nate Johnson, ex-Fit For an Autopsy, appears on “Rat Trap;” “Dollar to a Dime” has Alan Grnja of Distant; and “XXXXXXXXXX” features original TLTSOL vocalist Storm Strope. In creating The Dead Ones, “everyone took what we learned from the past two releases and assembled what we thought would bring out the best of us from song structure, tonality of instruments, the mix/master, and the lyrical themes,” furthers McLaughlin. The end result reflects a more personal and human experience rather than the philosophical and fictional approach used on NNG. The first single, “The Dead Ones,” is specifically about how the actions of humanity can take an individual’s actual innate humanity away. “Dealing with these emotions can make you want to reach out to people who bring you comfort or peace and be a vessel to speak to them again,” McLaughlin says. “It invokes the physical scene of a seance and connecting with those, but questions if good is only a temporary veil for evil and warns about what lines might be crossed looking into the void.” "The Dead Ones" was recorded with a six-string baritone Viper from ESP-LTD tuned to Drop F, the same tuning used on the band's 2012 "Warpath" EP. To elevate the intensity, the band also used an Earthquaker Devices Sunn O))) and Keeley Octa Psi drop tune pedal on certain sections. I played guitar more in the past two years than ever before. I would work, go to the gym, come home, eat and then play guitar until I went to bed.” The end result is eight action-packed tracks, produced and mixed by Benny Grotto at Boston’s Mad Oak Studios. Emotion is writ loud and large for the band that’s been praised for their “deep grooves, thick riff mechanics, soulful melodies,” and for creating a “musical stew that intoxicates the listener, sweeping them into another aural universe.” Gaffney has spoken about the band’s, “maturity mixed with a childlike enthusiasm to play music,” and Gozu VI’s songs are proof positive. “I think this is more of a soulful, straight forward, guitar-driven album. When Erik and I started writing for the new album, this riff fit right in and we began writing around it. It all came together pretty quickly. Erik had this killer Vader-esque riff for the verse and then we were almost done. It's the second song we wrote for the album. It's one of the more intense and straight in your face songs, even lyrically, which makes it a perfect album opener. It also makes a great presentation of our new lead guitarist Christian Fredriksson with not one, but two spellbinding solos.” - Tobias Gustafsson The band didn't miss a beat in getting back to writing. According to drummer Tobias Gustafsson, while the unmistakable Vomitory sound remains, the new album cranks up the intensity. "In Death Throes picks up where All Heads Are Gonna Roll left off, but we've turned the intensity up a notch. Christian quickly found his place and even contributed music to four killer tracks. These additions bring a bit of diversity to our sound without straying too far from the formula." The songwriting process began in the summer of 2024 with Tobias and bassist Erik Rundqvist riffing away over beers. The first fruit of their labor was "Two and a Half Men," followed by the album opener, "Rapture in Rupture." From there, the band worked together closely, with each member contributing to the arrangements and fine-tuning the tracks in the rehearsal space before finalizing them. Lyrically, Erik once again brought his trademark gore, but with some fresh, more contemporary twists on In Death Throes. Recording took place across multiple studios in late 2025. Drums and vocals were recorded at Leon Music Studios in Karlstad, Sweden, with producer Rikard Löfgren (who had previously worked on Terrorize Brutalize Sodomize, Carnage Euphoria and Opus Mortis VIII) handling the engineering. Guitars and bass were tracked at Goff Studios in Karlstad, with Christian Fredriksson taking the reins as the engineer. For mixing and mastering, the band once again turned to Lawrence Mackrory (Paradise Lost, Bloodbath, Lik) at Rorysound Studios in Uppsala, Sweden, who delivered a crushing, heavy sound that still manages to breathe. As with "All Heads Are Gonna Roll," the album artwork was handled by Giannis Nakos of Remedy Art Design, while Seiya Ogino of Ogino Design handled the layout. "Indoor Enthusiast," the outstanding third record from TUESDAY THE SKY, the instrumental-driven project from guitarist Jim Matheos, arrived on Friday, October 24, 2025 via Metal Blade Records! TUESDAY THE SKY has been described as a "beautifully weird solo project" by Sonic Perspectives, while Dead Rhetoric dubbed it a "kaleidoscope of atmospheric songs." With eleven songs of pure Matheos-patented playing and passion, this year's Indoor Enthusiast features Dutch drummer Dennis Leeflang on "The Nearest Exit May Be Behind You," "Bend Toward Light," and "Set Fire To The Stars." Matheos, famed for his work with progressive metal giants Fates Warning, alongside projects such as OSI and his collaboration with John Arch, Arch/Matheos, planted the seeds of TUESDAY THE SKY around 2016. The impetus came from a Fates Warning bonus track that Matheos felt didn't fit for the band. He kept writing in that vein, and the result was TUESDAY THE SKY. The initial offering was 2017's Drift, a record that drew influence from the likes of Brian Eno, Sigur Ros, Boards Of Canada, and Explosions In The Sky. The second TUESDAY THE SKY album was 2021's "The Blurred Horizon," a mixture of ambient, electronica, post-rock, and more. The Blurred Horizon is perhaps best described as a beautiful record, having a natural grace to it. The closing track "Everything Is Free" is a cover of a Gillian Welch and David Rawlings song, and the only song with vocals, supplied by Tim Bowness. "Indoor Enthusiast" is entirely instrumental, produced and mixed by Matheos, and mastered by Jacob Hansen.

Six Feet Under - Mutilated Corpse in the Woods (Official Video) Buy here: http://www.metalblade.com/sixfeetunder "Next To Die" marks a new creative high for Six Feet Under, marking the band’s 15th album since 1995’s Haunted. “It started out as an album full of death metal songs with speed and aggression,” says guitarist Jack Owen. “Then Chris had the brilliant idea to keep half of those death metal songs and add some groovier songs in the vein of the early Six Feet Under material. Chris emphasized tempo, so keeping with the beats per minute for early SFU classics, I wrote a side of tasty groove-laden music with Chris doing all the lyrics.” The creative collaborative approach sees Next to Die essentially broken down into two different sides, Death and Groove, resulting in an aural masterwork that satisfies Six Feet Under as artists, while also offering something for every fan. Next to Die, produced by Jack Owen and singer Chris Barnes and mixed and mastered by Mark Lewis of MRL Studios, Nashville, follows 2024’s Killing for Revenge. It’s the third record that Barnes and Owen (ex-Cannibal Corpse) have created together since reuniting in 2017. “We don’t discuss lyrical themes, we each write what we’re feeling,” explains Barnes. “We each just write what we find interesting.” Barnes titled the record after the song “Next to Die,” as it “best represents what is contained within the ideas/storylines of the lyrics of each song.” The frontman urges close listening, saying, “that’s the great thing about music and art and reading. It takes you on an exploration into your own imagination, and that personal experience lets you discover what you think the meaning is. Having someone tell you what it means takes away that magic,” Barnes believes. Sandy Rezalmi’s cover art perfectly brings to life the journey that the LP’s lyrics and music take listeners on, and SFU are excited to share that gory and glorious vision with listeners everywhere. Tour dates are being worked on for 2026 and 2027, with Six Feet Under more than ready to jump back on stage. “We enjoy being on the road, wherever it is,” Owen says. “Every day is different. This album has enough great material do give us the opportunity to play these, plus lots of our older classics, to fans around the world.” 04. Lyrically, it’s aimed at the kind of smug, greedy parasite who hides behind legacy and respectability while everyone around them suffocates. It’s about institutions and individuals who turned a once-respected space into a “fifty-year mockery,” treating people like expendable fuel while they count the cash. The song is us standing in that claustrophobic room, calling out the lies, and promising that if you come for us, you’re actually coming for every single person we stand with. The music is a deliberate nod to that mid-2000s Unique Leader school of blasting brutal death metal, fused with Sean’s melodic, brooding sense of atmosphere. It’s technical without showboating, relentless without losing groove, and built around riffs that feel like concrete. Having John Gallagher from Dying Fetus on the track was about closing a circle, his gutturals are instantly recognisable and tie the whole thing back to the era that shaped our sense of heaviness. This is the sound of a once-revered statue being dragged off its plinth and smashed to dust. 03. This is probably the heaviest song on the album. The catchy melody combined with lots of double bass drums will roll over you like a tank. Musically it's influenced by British giants like Iron Maiden, Bolt Thrower, and Carcass. Lyrically, I don't really know where [vocalist/bassist] Erik [Rundqvist] found the inspiration. Probably somewhere far, far away...” Director: Marcus Svensson The band didn't miss a beat in getting back to writing. According to drummer Tobias Gustafsson, while the unmistakable Vomitory sound remains, the new album cranks up the intensity. "In Death Throes picks up where All Heads Are Gonna Roll left off, but we've turned the intensity up a notch. Christian quickly found his place and even contributed music to four killer tracks. These additions bring a bit of diversity to our sound without straying too far from the formula." The songwriting process began in the summer of 2024 with Tobias and bassist Erik Rundqvist riffing away over beers. The first fruit of their labor was "Two and a Half Men," followed by the album opener, "Rapture in Rupture." From there, the band worked together closely, with each member contributing to the arrangements and fine-tuning the tracks in the rehearsal space before finalizing them. Lyrically, Erik once again brought his trademark gore, but with some fresh, more contemporary twists on In Death Throes. Recording took place across multiple studios in late 2025. Drums and vocals were recorded at Leon Music Studios in Karlstad, Sweden, with producer Rikard Löfgren (who had previously worked on Terrorize Brutalize Sodomize, Carnage Euphoria and Opus Mortis VIII) handling the engineering. Guitars and bass were tracked at Goff Studios in Karlstad, with Christian Fredriksson taking the reins as the engineer. For mixing and mastering, the band once again turned to Lawrence Mackrory (Paradise Lost, Bloodbath, Lik) at Rorysound Studios in Uppsala, Sweden, who delivered a crushing, heavy sound that still manages to breathe. As with "All Heads Are Gonna Roll," the album artwork was handled by Giannis Nakos of Remedy Art Design, while Seiya Ogino of Ogino Design handled the layout.
