Reading the Bible publicly does not equal submission. 2 Chronicles 7:14 calls for humility, repentance, and turning—not self-exaltation or religious branding. God is not moved by ceremony, crowds, or patriotic displays. Jesus warned of outward religion without inward truth (Matthew 23:27). The Word is not a prop—it is a sword. “Be doers of the word” (James 1:22). Test the spirit (1 John 4:1). Not everything said in God’s name comes from Him. Many will come in His name and deceive (Matthew 24:4–5). Scripture cannot be used safely against God. The same passage that promises healing also warns of judgment. People want healing—but resist repentance. God joins them together. Reading the Bible does not honor God—obeying it does.
