Fans of the game breathed a sigh of relief that the 30th season of the W will happen on time, but for generations of women, it’s deeper than just hoops. Millions of women who have been told their work is not worth the same as their male counterparts can share a major victory in the fight for equality and respect. There should never be a world where world-class hoopers like A’ja Wilson, Breanna Stewart, Angel Reese, and Caitlin Clark or even lesser known players should have to play overseas to make what they are worth, especially in the middle of World War III. Yet, if you listen to bitter dudes hiding behind anime pictures, American flags and their favorite NBA player who wouldn’t spit on them if they were on fire, you’d believe the WNBA is a failing entity propped up by its parent organization, the NBA. Unfortunately for the deplorables, the reality is something different.
