“The Way”, Weekend 3 - Saturday Movie Session with David Hoffmeister https://programs.the-christ.net/courses/the-way-of-the-mystic Thinking that we know who we are is what prevents us from recognizing our True Self. This is the main message of the rich movie session of the last weekend of "The Way." Through the story of an obituary agency owner who goes bankrupt, David showed how being in a state of not knowing what to expect is a blessing, even if those facing it may see it as a curse. When the movie's main character ceased to be an obituary agency owner, he started to wonder what he was, what he had to do, and what his purpose in life was. Ironically, that "clueless" state of mind is the best opening we have to accept what Jesus has told us more than 2,000 years ago: that we are the Son of God. The movie session also helped David discuss the concept of ownership, the belief in scarcity, the search for love in idols, and how all that has to be forgiven. Judgment is the problem, which is why Jesus said that nothing you see means anything in the very first lesson of the ACIM workbook. We were not made to judge. While we stick to the idea that we know which situations are good or bad, we will continue to ask for the ego's approval. Why count on it when God Himself has established our worth? “The Way”, Weekend 3 - Opening Session Friday Evening with David Hoffmeister and the Berries https://programs.the-christ.net/courses/the-way-of-the-mystic When the Living Miracles community promoted one of the first Strawberry Fields Festivals, Kirsten nicknamed the volunteers the Berries, and that's what everyone who shows up to help is called to this day. After telling this story, David welcomed all the new Berries to share their miraculous journeys of becoming volunteers for the Strawberry Fiesta in Mexico. What followed was a joyous sharing of miracles from our beloved Berries. Apparent problems turned into solutions, and doubts melted as soon as they emerged. The Holy Spirit showed these volunteers that anyone willing to perform miracles for Jesus can be carefree because they will be cared for. Time and space will always be arranged so that we can happily forgive. These journeys of faith, trust, and devotion turned the opening session of the last weekend of The Way into nothing short of a party, a true celebration of purpose and joy. Wherever our Berries came from, whether from Latin America, Europe, or Japan, their trips to Mexico proved to be demonstrations of how the Holy Spirit lovingly guides us back home. “The Way”, Weekend 2 - After the Movie Q&A Session with David Hoffmeister https://programs.the-christ.net/courses/the-way-of-the-mystic The documentary about the poor boy who became a successful entrepreneur raised profound questions among the participants. It is easy to accept the script when everything goes according to plan, but how to deal with it when an apparently negative outcome unfolds? David addressed that by reminding everyone that the problem is our judgment of the situations, not any particular worldly circumstance, whether people deem it to be positive or negative. As Jesus told us in ACIM, everything is always happening for the good, with no exceptions. When you judge anything negatively, it may seem that God wants us to suffer, which could not be further from the truth. God's will for us is perfect happiness, which is only possible when we have forgiven time, forgiven the past, and forgiven the future. Miracles will collapse time for us. Other participants asked about how to function in this world of illusions so that our personal needs are met. David then explained that our belief in reciprocity is what makes giving and receiving seem to be opposite actions. In truth, they are the same because we are all the same one, loved and protected as an idea in the mind of God. The story of a young boy born in precarious conditions who went on to become a wealthy entrepreneur goes way beyond what the Ego would label as success. His guided path towards that is the demonstration of how the Holy Spirit acts. In a world where the truth is concealed by veils we call reality, we need help to release the illusions that keep us trapped. That help comes through trust. This entrepreneur first trusted his mentor, a man who had connections with the mafia. David warned that, although he also frequently used "purple words" – as a former president of the United States classified his swearing – that was also a veil hiding a precious heart. Judgment is the error. Eventually, guidance led this man to completely change his personal plans. After repeatedly saying he would never marry or move to California, he ended up in Beverly Hills with his wife and kids. That shows how important flexibility is for those willing to accept the Atonement. The fact that he changed so many lives along his way confirms that salvation is not a personal task. It is collective, with mighty companions that the Holy Spirit connects us with all along the way. For the first time ever, Mother Nature showed up for a Levels of Mind gathering with Jason. And the meeting showed how Mother Nature populated its world with billions of people by believing in separation. This was only the first comedy skit in a session filled with beautiful music and lighthearted, funny videos meant to show that laughter is the best way out of illusions. Through comedy, Erik and Jason showed how the Holy Spirit can help us undo competition, control, attack, possession thoughts, and the belief in sacrifice.
