The electron storm interfered with Agnes’s jump to 1880s Dublin. Her steps there have a faint irregularity, a stilted flow that Dublin’s cobblestones seem to anticipate. Strangers treat her with a mix of respect and caution, as if she’s someone who sees more than she says.
