Huge fan of the way Gyokeres took that penalty. No stutter-step nonsense. Just run up and pound it into the corner. If you're on penalty duties that's all you need to do.
As for the result: reminds me of how defense specialist teams fail, because they struggle to recover from defensive errors.
After going behind, happy to go in level after a well taken pen from Gyokeres. Poor overall from Arsenal, there's no cohesion in the midfield 3, the wide players are peripheral, & everything is a struggle.
Feels/looks like a game where the players are feeling the pressure, but we have to do better
Tough going. Great to be level after the early goal but I think the game (and the pattern of the game) went largely as expected with team we selected. Bournemouth are making it difficult for us to get out, but I'm surprised we haven't gone long more - Gyokeres is finding some joy. Loved his penalty.
Always trust Gyokeres from the spot. No messing about, hard and into the corners - exactly how they should be taken. Big goal. Need to wake up now.
1-1. Gyokeres smashes home the penalty. Keeper went the right way but it didn't matter. He hit it too hard and placed it too well.

Would give my left nut to bench martinelli, put Eze in, and keep havertz and Gyokeres up high.
The straight swap with trossard will do absolutely nothing for us I fear
Gyokeres is totally isolated at the top. We are hoisting long balls to him, which is intercepted by a Bournemouth players and circled back to our half!! Now, where have I seen that before??

Our movement off the ball is so bad; when we do have some space to counter, we botch the pass. Havertz had a great chance to play in Gyokeres & instead underhit the pass and the defender was able to intercept. Rice had a chance to counter & he passed the ball to their player instead of Martinelli
I think it's fair to say I was worried as to whether Gyokeres would get his confidence back. Glad he's still playing for us.
If I told you Arsenal could sell Gyokeres and sign a different striker this summer, how much of a loss is an acceptable one off his purchase price?

This accounts for 20% of our league goals.
My unpopular opinion stand Gyokeres is still running around headless, wasteful, and a complete waste of space as usual. Noni Madueke isn’t at his best today, and without that family rhythm of fast-attacking players, all the team’s hard work is going nowhere.
