Bournemouth were great today but to a man, Arsenal's players looked paralysed by fear.

For some weird reason, the sight of their head coach bouncing around his technical are like Basil Fawlty thrashing his car with a tree branch for 90 minutes doesn't instill onfield calm and confidence.

Arsenal suddenly look broken — now Mikel Arteta must fix their biggest problem Arsenal 1-2 Bournemouth: Clean sheets and set-pieces alone aren’t going to win the Gunners the title. They need to learn how to dominate a game again

Bournemouth, like City, could plan for Arsenal because they’re now locked in to this constrained approach

The psychology of the race now demands something more assertive, more than clean sheets and set-pieces

But can Arsenal shift emphasis in time?

It's cool (not cool) how Arsenal have faced yellow card anomalies in consecutive games.

Araujo's once-in-a-decade 7 fouls without a booking for a CL defender.

Bournemouth committing 11 fouls (one short of their FULL MATCH average) in the first half without a booking.

Arsenal’s open play xG against Bournemouth was 0.19 – only once have they had lower in a Premier League home match on record (from 2021-22), registering 0.17 v Crystal Palace in October 2025.

Without Odegaard technical level is just not there to play through a press like Bournemouth’s. Couldn’t play through them all game and the second goal came from, again, giving ball away trying to play out.

Bournemouth were quite fortunate that Michael Oliver wasn't in more of a yellow card showing mood.

Their high press is really helped by guys being able to foul after getting beat when the press breaks, and if they're on bookings, they can't do that.

Defeat against Bournemouth leaves Arsenal nine points clear at the top of the table.

At this stage of the season, it could look a relatively healthy lead.

Few Arsenal fans will feel that way.

There’s also a real problem now we’ve been found out because Bournemouth done a similar thing City done in the League Cup final.

We had no answer then. We had no answer now.

Superb display from Bournemouth.

An Arsenal team built for containment haven't been able to respond to a different game.

Fulltime. 2-1 to Bournemouth.

Arsenal are running on fumes. Are the injuries and fatigue taking the toll at the worst time?

#ManCity can move to within six points of Arsenal with a win at Chelsea, and will also have a game in hand plus the Gunners still to visit the Etihad Stadium... after Mikel Arteta's side lost 1-2 vs Bournemouth at home.
