Long story short, we're watching a developing Christian schism that is mirroring the destruction of American Hegemony and associated partnerships and will fall along the same fault lines, leaving us isolated but radicalized, desperate, dangerous, and a worsening fascist problem.

It's time for people to stop asking "is this when evangelicals abandon Trump?" after every sacrilegious thing. This is what they want, what they're familiar with. And, as an ex evangelical, I can tell you the seeds for this radicalization were planted a long, long time ago, way before MAGA.

As the Far Right has become disillusioned with MAGA, they're turning more and more to virulent antisemitism, openly fascist ideology, antidemocratic energies, and, as the overarching umbrella for these things, Christian Nationalism, which will likely be the focus of the post-Trump Right.

There was a long running battle within the Catholic Church between Right Wing reactionaries and liberals and the former has won, which has set in motion a scramble among the Far Right in America to find a new place to focus their interests and Christian Nationalism has emerged as the "winner" here.

For years now the Far Right has been searching for some spiritual avenue to launder their antidemocratic ideas and plans. Many, including JD Vance and Steve Bannon, turned to catholicism, while others remained steadfast in the protestant world and developing Christian Nationalism.

People tend to view religions and religious activities through a metaphysical lens, but these happenings are as material as anything else and the embrace of Christian Nationalism has less to do with "revelation" than a need by fascists to find some cult that legitimizes their violence.

Christian nationalists who support Trump won’t care about him posting a picture of him as Christ. The vast majority of them have always had pastors and leaders who continually positioned themselves as stand ins for Christ as they’ve committed Trump-like abuses.
